I replace the 5 pushrods w/ 4-40's.....those thin, short jobs got trashed. The tail struts are strong enough for a 33%er!

hey tIANci... that looks kewl. It looks like the landing approach is over that big building to the right. Rather convenient to have your car parked by the pit area. It's the same here in TO. Just be careful with spectators if you guys don't have insurance. Can't you get the local authorities designate a site for RC Hobbists?
Like the mountains in the background.....kewl. Also nice to show up when there is only two to three people flying, at my club...weekends are a disaster, 80 ppl at a time. It's pretty tense just to get a flight in....weekdays are just slightly better. Our club has 166 members with about 12 kids flying also.
So enjoy the good weather, all year round flying and a not too packed field
Today the temp is -10 with flurries and it's not even officially winter as yet....I think it starts on Dec 21st.
Cheers dude...happy flying.

Kaz - the cars is where the pits are, most flyers land from the left and not the right, I do my best to land from both directions as at times the wind comes from all directions. Right in front is the old international airport, that is just behind the hills. Yes ... spectators will line up on the grassy area on the right.

As for flying we have the following groups:

Saturday early morning group - 7:00 am arrival
Saturday afternoon group - 3:30 pm arrival
Sunday early morning group - 7:00 am arrival
Sunday morning group - 9:00 am arrival
Sunday afternoon group - 3:30 pm arrival
Weekday morning group - 7:00 am arrival
Weekday afternoon group - 5:30 pm arrival

I fly almost everyday! Weekends are morning and afternoon for me.

The biggest is the weekend afternoon group ... only about 20 flyers max, cars will be all lined up!!! Still no one gets shot down. As for local authorities, its a waste of time, they do not see it as beneficial, I wrote to the Minister of Sports and got didly a reply!!! So much for politicians.

Looks like this "addiction" is world wide and their is no known cure...hehe good to know that you guys get a good turn out......encourage more people to fly and hold competitions.
Maybe then with more people in the hobby, the local politician will pay attention and dedicate some land for flyers. There is weight in numbers, eh......and they will want to get your votes. Get some notable persons "addicted"....er, into the hobby who will have some clout with local politicians.
Still, your flying area looks "kewl" Maybe, I'll come fly there someday.

Cheers.

tIANCi - Don't worry about highjacking the thread. I'm enjoying it all, especially since I put on my hip boots about 30 messages ago.

I do agree w/Kaz. If you can get someone with $$$ + influence interested in the hobby you will have a flying site.

Meanwhile - keep the body parts clear.

I did notice you guys (we) have gotten off the thread subject of the Seagull Laser 200, but there are just sooo many aspects to this hobby and we're keeping it educational...Right?

Cheers Guys!

This should not be called highjacking ... its just fostering foreign relations! See what the internet and a good hobby can do? Now if only someone can teach Bush, Osama and Castro about RC planes then introduce them to RCU and we might have a better world to live in. Anyways, we are not talking about women and beer so we have a clear conscience.

Our field here is not even due to surface run off after rain, also the pebbles will give the underside of your pride and joy a shot gun effect! I got a GP Lancair and I sold it NIB, I realised what would eventually happen. Oh by the way its really hot in the afternoons so I only fly at 5:30 pm, we got the ice cream man around on weekends!!! Also, A&W and McD are just round the corner. Now ... where are the massage girls?

Bob Zar - Where art thou? Haven't heard from you in some time. Have you got the laser in the air yet or has the weather not been cooperating?

Forecast here for tomorrow is up to around 50 degrees. Hoping to get out and poke some holes in the sky, providing its not blowing 40 mph again.

My computer is making strange noises. Sounds like the pistons are swapping holes. May have to put it in the hospital in the near future. If I do will catch up with you guys.

Happy flying. Harc

Most of the followers of this thread has already built and maidened their Lasers'..... I think the next step with this thread was to give of the flight and fix experience....now all that's left is the friendship or comraderie that was developed during our discussions.
tIANci has put it well that we are fostering foreign relationship Eventually this thread will fade away...but, when we meet each other on other threads, we will know a little of each other and have some amount of respect for each other.
Other threads that was started for a particular subject or ARF may have over 2000 messages, but read through some of them...when the topic has been explored to it's fullest, the members just exchange pleasantries since they got to know each other online.
I for one looked forward to coming online and checking this thread for the latest message. I will keep replying until it fades away....but hopefully I will still see you guys online on other threads.
"life is like a box of chocolates....you never know what you will get" or when you will get it tIANci, Ron, Harc, Bob, tailskid etc.....it's been a pleasure
Now bring on the wine, women and song...it's been an awesome thread so far.
Cheers.

hey tIANci....what do you mean? I and Ron gave flight reports....check back the pages. I'll have to wait until next spring now to fly the Laser again...today it was -12 degrees. My nose was sticking together when I breathe in the cold air....... I'm only flying my profile plane now if I can...looking forward for good weather this weekend.....but the weatherman is calling for snow...may still fly in it, our shed is heated with a pot belly stove.
It's now 12:33 midnite here in Canada...I can't sleep, so I decided to come online..and here you are....haha. Don't you do anything else? I always see you online..not that I'm any different..hehe kewl.
Now only if we were all in the same country...........wine, women, song, hotdogs and BEEERR..
