Frost_ -> No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/28/2004 2:10:52 AM)

Check it, it's just like the mip with a fraction of a MM taller contact patch (bigger patch). My Epic ate the MIP composite up and it CONSTANTLY SLIPPED... I'll let you know how this one holds; I have high-hopes for it.

Here are some pics of the clutch and a few of my GT, in a state of sub-disassembly (word??) Oh yeah, check out new shoes on the Savage...

redheat8 -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/28/2004 9:52:02 PM)

How are the shoes working out? RED

Memopad -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/28/2004 10:20:54 PM)

Let us know how the clutch bell holds up.

Frost_ -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/28/2004 10:29:07 PM)

WOW THESE SHOES GRAB !!!

I have them setup in the position that is considered backwards (at least backwards to factory setups) and they grab HARD and hold FIRM.

I am running an 18 tooth CB (stock is what... 14 or 15?) with tall back tires and it flips the truck on its lid on pavement from a standstill. Babying it and nailing it produces SERIOUS acceleration, watch it squat!

If you are runiing an EPIC or some other hi-torque engine (OS 18, etc) on your GT you HAVE GOT TO GET THESE. Wow what a difference over that slipping-@$$ MIP....

Let us know how the clutch bell holds up.

The bell is a RR hardened bell; it should hold up just fine to the softer aluminum.

Fantom_15_GT -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/29/2004 5:26:29 AM)

Thanks bro, just orderd my set. I'll let you know how they go with the V15[8D]

P.S your in the UK arnt you? how long did they take to get there? Also does a MIP spring fit one?

Frost_ -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/29/2004 12:33:41 PM)

Nah I'm here in Amerika....

The MIP spring fits; it comes with one though... It took me about 5 days after I ordered to get it. I don't care what mill you are running it holds SOO much better than the MIP....

Memopad -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/29/2004 1:39:31 PM)

Thats cool frost, thanks for the info! I'll have to get a set when i get either the os18 or epic18. Now that you're grabbing so hard your tranny must be getting a workout again. How are those gears holding up?

Frost_ -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/29/2004 2:33:00 PM)

I only ran 2 tanks but they are as smooth as when I put them in. I have the titanium top-shaft, the steel idler, and the stock plastic diff. I have a brand new diff assembly and hardened diff gear though; I'm waiting for I have to fail before I replace it.

But yeah, you can watch it go and it LOOKS like it is being REALLY hard on the driveline.

I also made some changes to my engine setup so that I could go up to O'Donnell 30% RACE. and that by itself also made a HUGE difference.

This is another side note but I went from O"donnell 20% race and temps at about 230-238F (end of tank temps) to a MEGA LOW 165F (ENTIRE first tank after switch even after WOT driving).... I had to turn the HSN between 1/2 to 3/4 turn LEANER to get the temps up to just 215F!!!

Memopad -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/29/2004 8:59:44 PM)

Thats interesting... did you put an extra shim in the head when you switched to 30%?

Frost_ -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/29/2004 9:40:27 PM)

Actually I just went to a colder plug, but I VERY carefully doubled up on the copper plug washer/sealing ring (not much extra CC volume and prob. unneccessary). I ran two tanks and pulled the plug to see if the coil was deformed from detonation, it still looked new. I inspected the piston top for any signs and it looked fine as well. I will keep checking on it over the next 8-10 tanks abotu 2 tanks at a time. If I see anything adverse I will post on it with pics.

Frost_ -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/31/2004 2:58:26 PM)

This clutch is INCREDIBLE I cannot get over how FAST my GT runs now that it doesn't slip.... This clutch is worth EVERY PENNY. Throw those MIP 4n1s in the garbage!!

Memopad -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/31/2004 3:38:04 PM)

lol dude do you have any videos of you runnin with the epic? I'm really just curious exactly how fast this thing goes now...

Frost_ -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (10/31/2004 4:16:30 PM)

No, actually Amsterdamn and I were gonna shoot some yesterday but when the moment came we didn't have a video-tape. I'm gonna get some vid of it up in the next week or two... Maybe some roof-scrubbing action on the pavement...

Kemo -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (11/2/2004 2:15:54 AM)

those should fit on my ultima... most associated parts do.

Nitro Rustler Racer -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (11/2/2004 2:57:35 AM)

lol, i heard that they give radio interfrence

Kemo -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (11/2/2004 4:13:08 AM)

u tend to hear a lot of things.... any voices by chance? [X(]

Nitro Rustler Racer -> RE: No More PUNY MIP GT Clutch... (11/2/2004 1:07:45 PM)
