Ok i havent talked on here for ~3 days so consider yourself lucky im even on. The GT is a nitro ST thats over 10 years old. It has the most hop-ups out of all the ST's. It's probably one of the most durable. The engine that comes in it is fine. Easy to tune and go's pretty good, but after you drive with it for a year or 2 you want something better. If you were getting it, you dont need any of the 1000's of hop-ups. The reason why i have it and many others is because we like to custimize them to our liking. Now im not saying hop-ups are bad or good. Just be sure if you decide to get one, how well it will work for you. RPM is a company with tuff plastics so try to get some stuff from them, they have a life time warranty so if ya break the part they will replace it.(if you didn't know, im not sure how much you know about this hobby so sorry if ya did).

The GT Is an all around great truck. Awesome for bashing and awesome for racing. It comes in a RTR and KIT. The kit is great, and i hear the RTR version got alittle better over the years. I myself have both the RTR and Kit and never had many complaints about them. The parts avalibility for this truck is crazy, you can find them in most hobbyshops. The best thing about this truck is the company itself Team Associated. Team Associated will help you out with any problems you may have (tuning, parts, bodies, wheels, etc...) over the phone. When i got my RTR a few years back they walked me through the engine tuning process.

Other nice trucks to look at are the Nitro Traxxas Rustler. It too has alot of hop-ups and from what i read its engine can go up to 50 mph...but i know and have seen the engine struggling to tune when you first get it. The rustler also comes with an EZ start which makes the pullstart seem to be a waste of time. But If you are going full throttle with this beast and take a sharp turn, expect something to roll over and brake. The Losi xxx-nt, well, this truck is mostly built for racing(and has proven that fact on lots of occasions) and even i have seen it in the pits with a broken a-arms or shocktowers. I wont go far into Losi trucks because I don't even want to go there.

Those are my top 3, the GT, Rustler, XXX-NT(all in that order). Now that you know my opinion, maybe you will think about it because im going back to bed.

I just didn't understand why we should "consider ourselves lucky"
Seamed like you were upset or something?

stevblutu15,
The GT is the best choice for a newbie,
easy to work one
lots of aftermarket ans LHS support etc. etc.
You or your Brother will enjoy it
