It's funny that you mentioned the shoe thing. I always tell a buddy of mine, who uses velcro a lot, that velcro is for shoes, not planes.
I wonder if your pal ,and I, were in Velcro U.(university) together???Thats where they teach ,the shoe thing..???? A person really never stops learning, what with all the advances ,in the hook and loop field...What year was his Graduation????

What do you guy`s think?? I was cheating by using 1/32" sheet on the top/center section of the wing,1/16" on bottom .I was going to glass it with, 1/4 ounce glass ,and, Z-poxy, and then a finish of some micro-balls/z-poxy mix..After Thought I should of used a piece of aileron to make up that block at the trailing edge of the wing..I made the top of the block, follow, the flow of the top, of the wing

TODAYS progress. Not a lot done, but something more, again. Believe it ,or not ,this Is the first ,complete plane, I`ve covered.I usually use glass, and paint. My DAD, was an interior decorator. So I have lots of wallcoverings experiance(wallpaper),from years ago....I don`t know why folks don`t like MONO-KOTE SEEMS to do anything I want it to do ,Including STRIPES..CAN anyone tell me of a HOME-BREW trim solvent??Or do I need to get the Top-flite stuff?? The lines seem to be stuck well....DoI even need that stuff?? I really don`t know....Still have a couple pin strips to put on the blue band down the side
P.S.I know A FLY R/C MAGAZINE secret!!!Shhh,,,,,,,,,,,, HEEHEEHEEHEEHEE

I don't care much for trim solvent. The supposed best technique is to apply the trim solvent to the already covered piece and then apply the trim piece to it. The problem I find is that the as soon as the trim piece touches the solvent, it can't be repositioned. I use Ultracote on almost everything now, which doesn't work with trim solvent anyways. Just go over all the edges carefully with an iron after you're done and it should be fine.

No fair teasing us, what's the secret?
WELL, I`m glad I don`t have to use that stuff
OKAY ,OKAY,Ok..I`ll talk !!Ican`t handle the pressure anymore Last weekend there was a post asking for a vote/suggestions on what we would like to see articles in the mag. about.SORT of like more ARFs electrics etc..So I wrote the editor and made my suggestions on what I would like to see in there..I asked for more 1/2A articles, and pullout plans, for warbirds..My letter and some of his replies
At 08:42 AM 10/22/2005 -0700, you wrote: >I like the kits, and glow power, over the ARFs and the electricpower >products..also I really like your plan pull-outs..How about some >1/2A glow powered R/C warbird plans..I ve got the large >scale stuff but the little planes are a lot of fun too... Funny you should mention 1/A warbirds. Our current issue is at the printer, and has a 33-inch SBD Dauntless as the plan feature. While it is electric powered, it would be no trouble at all to put a small glow engine in it. The electric version weighs 17 ounces, so it ought to fly great on glow.
We also have a unique Golden Age design coming along that will be presented as a glow model.
" I mentioned,a build thread,for the Dauntless,anyone want to ,do that???"
The January 06 issue has the Dauntless, and it will be out in about 10 days or so. The Dauntless was designed by Rob Caso and it is on his web site, www.turnkeyrc.com. I think a build thread makes a lot of sense, though don't have time to organize it. I was on the RCGroups forum a bit supporting the Daddy-O Racer builders, but that was my personal design.
The other one I am holding a little close to the vest until it is further along. I have the plans drawn, but haven't started the prototype yet.

DBRONK,
You should always do the bottom first. This will not only keep the seems from showing but will also help to keep the covering from lifting with age as things roll off the wing and not under the seem of the covering.
`Thats it for today..Plant shutdown..BIPER, Did you come up ,with the Idea, of hinging, with covering.I personally will do this, with any small planes, I build, from now on,for ever and ever .I think it`s a great way to do the job...Thanks ,for, That tip......DAVE B.

WELL a little more striping and that will take care of the majority of the covering task .Got to make a front window and a hood too yet .I really am starting to like this color scheme,BIPER Thanks..But it sure takes, a bit of time, to get it done nicely .Worth the effort though..I think... ..ANDREW do you have a personal Logo, that you use???I went to the hobby store again .You might be proud or POd.I`ll take that over to the fill in thread, though

SURE that would be great,But I was wanting to put it on the plane somewhere, are they small enough??I was visualizing something in the DONA----- Design or such..There won`t be a lot of eyes on it at my place ,but eventually this plane will get into the city.Theres a fly field ,not too far, from the Kids home, so there, I`m sure it would get you a bit of exposure...I want to put ,a tastefull, LST label on it somewhere too..I don`t want to make it to GAWDY though .I`m open to ideas too.You seem to have a knack ,for that...
