You're definately thinking things through. Just looking at the way that I see you've been constructing this plane, you definately do think things through. We all miss stuff here & there Good luck with the engine & test run!

i was thinking of a way to control the airelons by having pushrods go straight from the servo in the wing through holes in the side of the fuselage and connect to control horns instead of having to fiddle with the setup on the plan.
what do you think bipe, could it work, it would save alot of hassle

Damo,
the way shown on the plan is best, doing how you sugest introces a lot of play and makes the controls sloppy and likely to flutter- short perpendicular linkages reduce the likelyhood of slop.

It is quite common on small, light electrics, but usually with the servo on the top of the wing, outside the fuselage. It is a pretty sloppy setup unless the fuselage is very narrow. Even then it's not as good as torque rods.

Well I had the Trainer moving on its` own power thi evening.Got about a 12' taxi in, when the 1st bug, showed up.Nothing to serious, but it has to be addressed first.Basically ,I had a prop strike, with the nose ski.I forgot to take into account ,the ski tip rising and falling ,with its` rubber suspension..I`ll simply lower the entire nose gear, and give the prop extra clearance from the ski.I got a late start today, so that was the only test..But I learned a couple things .The skis glide very,nicely..THE NORVEL, HAS a Lot , OF , SNOT !!!! This plane should have no problem ,in a ROS..Temp. is supposed to be hanging around 0'C. tomorrow, hopefully no more bugs..

Is your prop tip to ground clearance the same with skis fitted as with wheels? In earlier pictures of your mockup or prototype skis, the prop looked rather close to the surface. With the front you can just adjust the 'ride height' at the steering rig in the motor mount, but for the rear mains, maybe you could bend up another main gear for skis if the tail is too low with the front down enough to prevent strikes. Also maybe some kind of crude limiter could be made by fixing a strong line, like that lead out wire you used on the control line plane, from the rear of the front ski to the wire gear near where it exits the fuse. Tie is to limit the tip of the front ski getting into the prop.. I'm sure you already have thought of all this...

Looks great, reminds me of my first real plane, a sig kadet jr, I put several miles on that one before I put the wing on. It was a great way to gain confidence for me.. and to remember left is right coming at me!

7x4 prop

NO more prop strike. But the nose ski needs to be widened a bit. There`s a lot of the weight on it ,and it wants to submerge, when decelerating and the weight transfers off the mains back to the nose.LIKE when you try to slow down, and not hit the bushes. I need to tear down the engine, for inspection, might of ingested some fluff...

NOTE to Self: . Don`t try useing a camera ,while operating an R/C aircraft. The movie is not that good, AND the aircraft Suffers too .

Learned today that the Skis GLIDE great, the skeg on the bottm of the nose ski works great, it can turn real sharp, very good bite.I`ll make another nose ski, tonight and try again tommorow,I hope.Once I`ve got this plane ,handling properly, on the ground.I`ll put it up.I had up elevator trimmed in ,and she got light on the nose. When I throttled down, it planted the nose ski hard ,and then flipped.
