I got a question, At the airfield in the second shocky video you posted Dion, Can you do tail touches and stuff in that corn field?

I don't know about the deluxe, but in AFP you can't do tail touches anywhere but the runway. I have, however been able to run my landing gear across the roof of a shack without it causing a crash. I have done several tail touches in the corn field and it's been an automatic self-destruct each time.

You can do tail touches on anything in AFP and AFP Deluxe. The only exception is water and the corn in the aircraft scenery that I know of.

I've done them on rooftops, tables, grass, objects etc.

However if you come down too hard it will detect a crash.

My laptop (compaq X1000 series) has a Pentium M chip with ATI 9200 card in it. Will I be able to run AFP Deluxe adequately? I run G2 now with it.

Michael go have a look HERE. I'm no expert on computer hardware. Otherwise you can wait for STLPilot to return so he can help you out.

Yes, it will work with FMS interface/Sim Blaster. However only as the 2nd controller as you must use the included Interface that comes with AFP and AFP Deluxe.

Why does AFP ask for the return of the disc and the interface hardware? Will the Interface be reconfigured to a usb port or what? Can some one explain?

The new cable is USB and must be used with the new version for secuity reasons. It's not going to be reconfigured, it's a trade up for better cord.

The upgrade is first of the year. The full version is still on track for begining of Dec. This is the same for us and Ikarus.

I showed the OMP site to my LHS owner today and showed him some of the screenshots and the first thing he said was "That looks REAL!" Then i told him that he should get a few copies from OMP, very dependable company. Ironicly, the UPS guy just came to the door with 6 G3's. lol

I am asking this questions as I have never installed any sort of graphic oriented game on my computer, so I need some help. I have a Sony Viao computer with a 4x AGP nVidia TNT2 M64 graphics card. Will this graphick be enough to run the new delux pro version?

Mudsurfer... Wern't you saying that G2 was the best ever just about a month ago? Sounds like you had a change of heart! Welcome to the real deal, Aerofly Pro!

swk - If you have the old TNT based nvidia card (actually any tnt based card) I don't think its gonna cut it. I think its actually a 16mb card and a low end one for when it was new - a few years ago. A quick search shows it goes for 9.95 from a liquidator website! Also consider your CPU speed. If this system hasn't been modified from that card it MAY be a stretch running anything current/cutting edge on it. Good luck!

Wha??? Aero Fly Profesional sucks? have you actually flown it? From what I heard "deluxe" is pretty much the same physics, just "tweaked" a bit. And a improvement of graphics. To get a plane in G2 to 3D at all it had to be modified fly around like a balloon. Graphics in AFP is better than G2 if you have a good graphics card, and settings done properly.

And how can you like the new one? Did you get an advance copy that we all don't have or somthing? If so, drop it in the mail off to me! (sadly I have a feeling I'm waiting till the middle of december like everyone else)

Well to each his own I supose, but sucks is such a strong word.

my .02

I have G2 and am now learning 3D. I think I will hold out for AFP Deluxe-- Was also looking at Reflex and G3. I have a stupid sounding question... How long is the USB cable or cord and can it easily be extended with a trainer cord and adapter if needed? Right now my G2 cord is about 6" too short. Keep the info coming. Think I will pre order soon.

I pulled the spec sheet on my Sony computer. It is a Sony Vaio PCV-RX560 computer with:
1.7GHz, 256MB RAM, NVIDIA TNT2 M64 (32MB) graphics acceleration. Do I need to both upgrade the RAM and the graphics card? If YES, what is a good graphics card that will do the job but is still fairly inexpensive?

Thanks - Steve
