spaceboy -> Zdz 40 Throttle Arm (8/15/2002 10:39:13 PM)

I just received my ZDZ 40 and I notice that the spring tension on the throttle is pretty tight. Being new to gassers I dont know if I should remove this spring or not. It seems like a lot of pressure for a servo to hold.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I plan on tossing the return spring on my ZDZ40. You're right...the spring has too much tension. It might be a good idea to replace the spring with another with less resistance in case the throttle linkage comes loose.

Interesting safety concept. I suppose larger gas type engines are more dangerous.
Kinda makes you wonder why some of the glow engines don't have such a feature. It wouldn't take much spring pressure, so I doubt it would hurt the servo.
