hi Damion
I think the steering servo is the problem now if the car ran good before
can't you put back the original servo to see?
steering is very important with buggys, we should buy not to cheap
I got a hitec , let's see, HS 5625MG digital and couldn't be happier with it for the moment
max trow, strong, 55 euro overhere: 645mg costing 45 euro
but you have to set your trow endpoints right so the digital doesn't go past and force and burns through

I had the same problem with push
latest method is to drive dicker oil in the rear diff some 2000-3000
or you can put some 500 shock oil in there, so the rear is just following the front : old method

I run 5000/7500/2500 now with a lighter goldcoloured rear anti-rollbarr
and cut 2mm of the frontarms
car turns very snappy up front with the rear normaly following just in balance..
I use white shocksprings from xb8

so I would try first changing the center diff oil, which is esier to change, to 7000/10000 and see what happens
keeping always 5000 in front as reference

I keep hearing about trimming 2 mm from the front A arms. What part do you trim and how do you go about this. Also if you trim the Arms how do you fill in the gap on the hinge pin so the A Arms don't slide.
Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure Rockman. I'm waiting to hear that part myself. I dont know exactly what part Ive been searching online.Haven't seen it yet.
Also has anyone run the quad brake setup that Sportwerks puts out? I have been melting my "stock" brake pads. What brake bias have people had luck with?

I hear the quad brakes are not needed and difficult to adjust.

I cut the front suspensionarms with a rotating tool to sharpen scissors and so on
it's easy but you have to do it slowly, taking care not to take off to much material in the end
also scrap the same quantity on both sides and stay centered on all sides, with that arm to the tool
cut in front part where pin goes through, just 10 mm large to clear the towerplate to (see pix)

to fill the gap I bought some extra 4mm shimmclips, mine are from from xb8
I run white xb8 shocksprings to

result is spectacular , much more steering , like a jammin x1cr
car just twists around the curves, you have to ajust the rear though to get it more stable
I use a goldcoloured rear anti-rolbar and white xb8 springs al around
or you can play with harder front rollbarr, shocksprings or oil

http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload0/frontarm.cut.jpg

quad brakes are not necessary, stock brake is wonderful and simpler
if you burn the quad, there are no spares!
gold anodised titanium tuning parts are not necessary either

thereisnoname,
You have this option of OFNA: 86505 Ofna Treaded Tire Mounted 17mm White.
The Road rages have very good grip in the asfa...

ok guys heres a good one for ya,

Just got my mayhem pro, this was the first time to the track. the back end fishtails excessively, it just wont follow the front end at all. the fishtailing is infact only slight when i am on power exiting a corner, this is throughing off my line and makiny this thing a handfull to controll. i had driven a buddy's RTR storm and it tracked fine comming out of the corners, just hit the gas and the front end pulls you arround and the rear end followed. this mayhem is definately in another class then that storm. i just need some setup advise. i was considering dropping to 3K in the center diff,(im using 7K) or would that be to big of a jump?

below is my current setup as well as what i tried today, i have been racing MT's for about 2 years so i know i can tune an engine, but i am new to 1/8 buggys andall of the chassis adjustments this thing has are a little over my head.

the track gets very dry quickly even though we watter between heats, and has a layer of powder on top.

any suggestions would be great

13T clutch bell
proline crime fighteers (M2)
40 wt shock oil all around
mugen carbon clutch with 1.0 springs
sportwerks red springs all around, (tried the stock springs on the front wich helped a little)
stock shock pistons
5f, 7c, 1r (1/2 filled rear with 1K) (Started with 2.5K, 1 K helped a little)
front shocks
Top:Lower outside
Bottom: outside
rear shocks
Top: Lower center
Bottom: Center
front upper arms forward ground for 1 extra shim, less caster
front 1.5 deg neg camber
front 1 deg toe out
rear toe (stock)
rear 2 deg neg camber
rear hubs lower mounting hole
stock swaybars with both mounting couplers all the way at the end of the bars (f&r)

The stock motor seems to be a little soft from a standing start sunds like it boggs a bit then spools up. would a set of 1.1 clutch springs help this?

BTW i am running the smallest carb insert to try to keep from spinning the tires too hard.

Ok...instead of getting on-road tires i was jsut thinking of getting some off road tires and using the stok tires on the street and for break-in...do you guys think this is a good idea? Also..the conditions I will mostly be on are a little wet -hard with dust.

Can anyone tell me what their idle screw setting is from all the way closed counterclockwise how many turns out?

I don't have a measuring device to measure the gap inside and now I've got it all screwed up.

I know aluminum diff cases for the Losi LST are the same. I was looking at some of the other LST parts/hop-ups, they have 'finned engine mounts' for the LST as an extra. They look the same as the Mayhem PRO's mounts, only a different color.

Can somebody verify that they are the same part?

thereisnoname,

I broke in my mayhem in a dusty parking lot with the stock tires and had no problems with wear. They were so good w/ concrete that i got a pair for my MBX because the stock tires for the ofna get ripped up pretty quickly. It's a good idea to get an extra pair.

BlackWolf42 and gdc02
The LST can fit in the mayhem without problem is the same. gdc02 you're right...the alum diff have a litter (mm) player. But is you buy the Aluminum Bearing Supports (SWK9099). They can fix the problem and you will have a strong diff case and support.
Only one observation, you will have some effort to put the piece inside...I ca do it with some oil.

gdc02, you want some pic to see it. I can send to you.

Great thread,I read all 16 pages and enjoyed every post! I bought my Mayhem about a year ago . My lhs had one sitting right on the counter so I had to pull the body clips and check it out, there was no way I could leave that store without a Mayhem in my hands. No doubt about it ,one of the best buggies i've run.I sure can relate to many of the posts entered. I hope to share some of my experiences and maybe be of some help too.

I recently purchased a Sportwerks Mayhem Pro (ARR). I am happy with it, having upgraded from a Hyper7 PCR Pro. I do have one issue though; the car handles fine on most tracks but, it could benefit from a reduction of the caster angle. Even with the upper arms all of the way forward, there is still too much caster. Many people at my local tracks have commented on this. Some say to remove material from the upper arms in order to fit another caster clip behind the existing one. Personally, I would rather not go this route as it weakens the arms. Is this an issue that Sportwerks has plans to correct with a revised part or are we all doomed to have to whittle on our cars?
