hi Bob,
I own Jett 90 #2 serial no and signed by Dubb. At any rate after all these years I'm going to run it but for some strange reason the instructions are not with the motor. I don't need a full instruction on the motor but I need the prop and the RPM figures to go on.
have the modeltech ARF version of the Bruce tharpe flying wing and would like to see if this motor will overcome the thick airfoil on it and give it some performance.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Dennis

Hi Dennis.......

wow...... #2 huh

That Vortex can be fairly quick. Although, it does have a fairly thick wing. Definately can not say anything bad about the aircraft though......flys very well... nice speed range, lands great.

Instructions.....
go to the jettengineering.com web site and look in the TECH section. Or just click on this
http://www.jettengineering.com/tech/techsj90.html

(note, the email there is wrong..out of date.... i have to fix it. email for dub is jett@jettengineering.com if needed)

Props....... since you have engine #2 I'd imagine you received the 'standard' Jett-Stream 90 muffler (not the torque version). You want to keep the engine turning up near 14K peak RPM. Usually, a good ole APC 12x6 works well, 11x7, 11x8, and the apc 11x9 are also good as long as you can get somewhere over 13K rpm on the ground. In this application, the smaller 11" diameter will give you a little bit longer ground run, but once in the air, they should unload and give you the best possible speed.

For flight, always note where peak rpm is, and back off 400-600 rpm for launch.

If the engine is still new, break it in on a test stand, per the instruction, using an 11x7 prop.

Keep me posted on the project. If possible, send a few photos to me and I will include them in the Jett Hall of Fame web site photo gallery.

Good luck
Bob
