Hi Skeet:

Sounds like you made the right choice, going to Tucson....Updated runway now sounds near perfect...those condos I kept passing on the way to the field from the motel look more inviting all the time....what a sweet place to hang while Wisconsin is in the deep freeze........maybe sell a couple of jets to come up with the downpayment.....

Definitely planning on coming out next year....two 15 hour days are brutal, but worth the cramped butt when you get there.....Hope to see you and Dan there as well....

Matt,
The 262 is mine, i bought the kit and Terry did the assembly. Not sure what to do with it, could be too nice to risk flying.Oh well we shall see.
V..

I know of 4 lockouts which all occurred in the same vicinity of the airfield on 3 different frequencies. They occurred in the same place Torrey had his loss a couple years ago. I just talked to a guy who was at the 1/8th scale fly-in last month and before I could tell him about the jet crashes he described 3 lockouts during that event in the same exact place. I'm wondering if that barbed wire fence running between the pilots and the planes could be acting as some sort of RF antenna?

In any case its time for you to get your new radio system going so we can avoid this kind of loss.

No doubt, I talked to Rob he said it was bad, this kind of thing can be the kiss of death for an event, hope they find a root cause or at least a group of freqs to stay off of.

Bob and I are working on the radio, should have more time to devote to it next year!

My hats off to the guy's/gal's who put on this show for us, thanks for getting those people to offer us some great barbecue for lunch...nothing worse then going to a show and eating bad food. Personally I thought the runway was great, a heck of alot bigger then most that we have flown from. Yes the overrun is a little harsh. This was my first time attending this show and my first time ever at this field, I would not bring another plane more expensive then a Zaggi back ONLY because of the radio problems that were going on. This has nothing to do with the hospitallity, or anything that was in control by the organizers of this event. But to have soo many planes go into fail safe in one weekend in my book is unacceptable. I am a pylon racer, and we always end up loosing a few planes in a weekend because that is just the nature of what we do...but our planes are $1,500 and only take a week to build.....so we have plenty of back ups. I too would have the same oppinion if there were a problem like this at a race where the financial losses werent as substantial.
On a good note, I met alot of really great people and once Tam pulled out his back-up plane, I had alot of fun flying. Joe it was great to finally meet you, and thanks for letting me come up with you guy's and do some smokin. I never got to meet the other guy who we were flying with, you guy's did a great job flying...thanks
Lou its always nice to see you, I loved watching Joe fly that Stealth especially becuase I know what a project it has been for you getting the bugs worked out and getting it in the air, you deffinatley got the right guy pulling the sticks for you. Sorry for your loss, it was sick to see that.
Take care guy's and I hope to see you at the next show.

Dave

That's Dan Johnson's KingCat. Kent Nogy's cousin from St. George, Utah (which by the way has a GREAT jet event every year in May).

I thought this was a pretty clever way of not over "shrinking" your monokote on a built up plane. I think they said this plane is called a Facet. Super nice guy's, had some gear trouble on Friday

Hey Dave

I think you forgot to mention that the exhaust Nozzle has variable thrust.

seems like I have used them in ducts before.
