After reading thru this thread, I had to order a flip also, and just did I hope they ship it by the end of this month or early sept. I have flown a OS 50sx on my Morris Top Cap, and absolutely love that engine. Never ever a dead stick after about 50 flights, and starts at the first flip. I will probably put one on the flip also (hope the 50sx is enough power for unlimited vertical on this plane). I am sure for one thing though : it will be an OS engine
Bob, I like the idea of the hitec mini digitals. You think it will be enough torque ? I am using Hitec 225MG's on my Top cap, and have no complains so far.
Anybody has any input about using these servos (hitec mini digitals) on the flip ?

This being a fourty sized plan, I think the new mini hitec digitals will have plenty of torque, more than the standard 3001.

Right - they have more torque, are metal geared - what concerns me is the smaller size of the gears needed to make a smaller package. Sure the torque is there - driven by the motor - but will the gears hold up pushing and holding such a large surface.

I too plan on the 50SX - so I will have the minis on hand and the standards - I cant stand to put weight on a plane so I'll use the standards if I run into a rear weight problem - minis if I do not.

Can't wait...

Mark,,

Another Majestic!!!!, Enigma!!!! an Edge 35%!!!!! and a big Extra!!!!, whats that 1/2 scale?. Wow man, I guess the old planes are still there collecting other planes and dust. I hope you still use them. Sound like Julie is lossing her place in your home to aeroplanes. Belgian advance Champ. I should be there practcing with you. Must be the flying with mr ZNline rubbing off on you. I think I'm going a little green now. well I will go back to my small little strip that I can only use on a Saturaday and train people to fly, again and who knows I might even get to fly myself.

Stock now consists of
Kyosho Cap YS63
MAdness YS63
Seduction FS YS63
and some very hot electrics
GWMP E3d
FVK Absolute knotronics Brushless
scale spitfire jeti brushles
xmodels Falcon Knotronics brushless

and then theres the gliders.

So what have you got now and what are you flying? I guess you still have the Ultimate. want to sell it?

Best wishes

Kris

Hey Ulf, you should try that Enya 80 four stroker that you had for sale (if you still have it) on that flip. A very lightweight motor for its power and size.

Steve, You think it would work fine on the flip ? I thought it might be to heavy. I still have it but was trying to sell it or trade it for a NIB OS 91FX for my Graupner Showflyer.

I think you could offset the weight difference with smart battery and radio placement. I used a Dave Brown 60 four stroke nylon mount on my enya 80, and it pulls amazingly on a 6 lb plane. I also had to hook up a perry pump on it, because I didnt get a muffler with mine (bought it at a swap shop). I am going to take it off my majestic and put it in either a lanier matrix 3d, a flip 3d, or a magic extra. I figure that powerplant with a 1- 1 1/2 lb difference in weight is gonna be a blast.

HI Guys,
I have been looking at the Kyosho Flip 3D, and the only major concern would be. If the Rudder is all flying (has no fin) then this rules out the idea of tail bracing. So one would guess that a YS 63 wouldn't last very long. For me it is Kipper shaped, and does yet to have the appeal that made Madness such a big hit.

I have a Madness & I love it, the quality for me was better than a Kyosho. Having said that I am wanting their little Majestic & having flown one it was Awesome!!

Kind Regards

Scott Farndell
