Hi Guys,

I have for some tome looking for a DIY Kit for a CNC Foam Cutter but not had much luck...I am keen to purchase an used foam cutter..the type similar to that manufactured by Foam Linx...ateleast 39" effective X Axis...machine should be in good knick...am okay with spending some $$$ on changing parts if necessary...

I am not sure whether this is the right place to put this but would appreciate if I could hear from any of you..

Thanks..

Jack

If your interested there are many DIY plans out there where by you can build one for around $300US. I have some plans that I can sell you that details the entire build process and gives sources for the electronics. i.e.- stepper motors, driver board, etc.

let me know if your interested??

The foam cutter has two vertical posts that the citting wire is pulled taught across. it uses 4 stepper motors and is similar to many of the others seen around the web. Let me know if your further interested, its real easy to build, basic woodworking skills- hammer, tablesaw, jigsaw, etc. Give me a shout and I will send you photos and more info regarding the cutter.

My 'woodworking' skills are lacking. I have been told that with a hammer, saw, and nails I become dangerous. Something like public enemy #1. However, this has my attention as I need to do something. Will this system handle cylindrical objects? Please send me photos too.

Thanks.

Marco, thanks for the link. I will look at it also but my spanish is MUCH weaker than your English.

Be careful with the guys at cenece.com (spanish site), I'd buy the complete system for foam cutting; two electronic components arrived broked...

I'd notify that to cenece.com; juanchi and javier lopez tell me they will send me new parts again; that never happend...

I'd send they too many email for replace the parts and always say "next week"... It was two years a go and not arrived yet....
