How is the engine?
I know sometimes they can be hard to tune

I have a video posted on youtube of mine stock and didn't know much about it.I just bought a Shockwave 55 with a 26Zenoah and it's a whole different animal but my break in on the 36 was fun.
It is fast and turns sharp.
Search for nitro return to shore and you can see all three videos.

out of the box my low speed needle was set way too rich. It was difficult to start it up intil it was leaned.

Other than that, the engine is pretty easy to tune. Just run it rich on the high speed, then gradualy lean it a click or 2 at each run until you land on the sweet spot.

Hi Everyone

Been away from here for sometime..

However Ive just got myself a Shockwave 36 & have to say im thoroughly impressed with it, this is a quality boat & im wondering why I ever messed about with Aquacraft's SV27 & Miss Vegas! (Nothing but hassle!) The Shockwave really out shines them both in build quality and visually! That hardware on the rear of the boat is hot!

Ive read the manual over but couldnt find much info about the Glowplug.. Well I did see a part No: but was wondering if I can use an O.S. plug if so could someone tell me which type or No: I should purchase please?

Also is it adviseable to leave the glow starter attatched for the first run while breaking in? I saw the review on here where the guy left it attached & it ran really well so guessing this is he way to go?

Many Thanks

CC

I used to do that with the glow plug in all the engine's I broke in in trucks over the years but later found out that you don't have to.
If you have no retrieval boat then this may be a good idea cause it will not flame out as easily.
This should be the same with the marine engine as the truck engine's I used to break in.

I put an OS glow plug in my SW36 and it did not run real well. I went out and got this
Glow plug from Dynamite. It runs like a new boat.
I hope this helps

Thanks for your response

I dont think I can get the Dynamite glow plugs here in the UK - O.S. seem to be the most readily available, I have some O.S. No 8 plugs but not sure if they are ok to use, still breaking in engine on the original plug.

Anyone else with advice on compatible SW36 glow plugs to run?
