I need robart gears for the roo. The ones I am getting at the local HS are the 630's but there are only mains in it. What model do i need for the nose leg? The HS here say that Robart 640 105 degree nose leg may be suitable. The 630 are 90 degree mains. THey done have the special roo robart gear package available.

What is everyone else using?

Anurag

Hi there;

It is nice to know that some people are flying Roos and may be turbines in India!!!

Any nose gear should work on the roo IF you choose it correctly. As you already know, Robarts makes a special gear for the Roo but it is really a standard product. If you have the mains, email Robarts and ask them to give you all the possible matching nose gear options.

Goos luck, I am on my Fourth Roo with Robart gears!!!

The 105 degree rotation nose unit will work just fine.

Anurag,

I use the SA's on my Roo, 3/16" wire struts.
I have to 'tweek' them back into position every few flights, but otherwise they work fine.
One good thing about them, in a hard landing they bend instead of breaking the mounts. Kind of like a fuse in the landing gear.
152 flights on them now.

Hey Anurag,

Glad to see your getting closer to flying your roo....I'm using the robart mains with a springair nose gear. No problem there! I prefer the springairs over the robart for the nose since it is firewall mount. Any heavy nosegear will do....
Regards,
Todd

Hi Anurag,

Try Graupner's landing gear (Eurokit retracts and struts, Liebetrau brakes), specially made for the Kangaroo.
http://www.graupner.de
They come complete with wheels and brakes and both valves to operate them. They will twist bend, even brake the main body on hard landings, but all parts are available, cheap and easy to replace. Also, Motors and Rotors stock these and will dispatch them to you immediately if you are in a hurry, they also carry all their spares.
http://www.motorsandrotors.com

They are much cheaper than Robarts and will work just as fine. Believe me, save the Robarts for a better project.
