you dont need a receiver pack. You should try taking that off. Cause the battery from the car is powering the receiver. And if thats not right try re programing the esc. Follow the directions in the manual to do that.

i tried reprograming the esc and it still didnt work

i have a prob. when i give my xl-5 throttle nothing happens but the steering still works. i checked the reciver pack and it all plugged in correctly,

If the steering still works, then it's not the receiver pack. Check the motor to esc wires, and read you manual.

fuse - there is no reason to disable the receiver pack, he will only lose runtime by taking it off, especially if his batteries are crap.

yea i know that but he might as well try. It could some how be messing with it. But if he tried and nothing happend then its not that. You jsut have to try different things until it works.

It could be the motor did it just randomly stop working or did it make some noise or something?

yea it might be the motor but if it jsut started doing this then its probably not. But do you have a separate motor to plug in that would work?

or depending the connections you have on your motor you can also connect it directly to a bat and see if it runs

Im getting a pede! Im getting the XL-5 but the second it comes i am putting in my sidewinder brushless set up. I intend to jump high, far, and go fast. Are they worth getting, are they durable, are there any specific weak points? Any other suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

well thats a bad idea lol. You shouldnt have gotten the xl5. you are gonna need all new gears in the tranny and bearings. Sorry to break it to ya but its the truth. I would have bought the vxl cause it comes with everything but you are gonna be spending more money this way.
