Hey Guys, Great thread you have here!!! I dont get on this site much due to flying every second i can, but i have an offer for someone out there if they're interested.

Free to good, deserving home!

I have a hanger 9 twist thst i have had for about a year and a half that I would like to give to someone who wants a sporty plane to step up from their trainer or such. Now, this plane has seen better days, crashed four times, but rebuilt stronger every time, and it sure wouldn't win a beauty contest, but wvery time I fly, it comes with for the ride. It has a new half of an elevator and a new rudder due to some "nascar drafting practice" a few weeks ago, but it really flies awesome. I have an OS 46ax in it and it hovers at 2/3 throttle, so anyone with a decent 40 size engine would have plenty of power for it without buying a bigger motor. I'll give them the Plane, pushrods, gear, wheels, spinner, motor mount and fuel tank, so all they need is their radio and engine and they're flying a fun airplane. Its the plane that gave me confidence in my flying ability.

So If anyone is interested, let me know on here or email me at j_oly1999@yahoo.com

I live in Northern Indiana, 46507 zip code, and well work out something on the shipping

Thanks for helping make room for my new toys, and glad someone can use this plane

Count me in as second. Naw forget it. It comes in handy at times when I can claim I don't have much of a brain left. cool response though.

j_oly1999

Nice plane to give away, very cool and a great step up from a trainer. Had the Twist at one time, flew the snot out of it as it was my second favorite plane to toss into the truck and hit the field with. Sold it and got the Funtana 90.

j_oly1999,
If you don't get any takers on the plane, you can ship it to Bubbagates or myself to hold for future PIF use. We'll hold on to it until there is a need for it. Bubba will more than likely put it up on the PIF website as available, but I'm not 100% sure how he is going to handle that. If you do ship it to me I'll repair anything that is wrong with it in preparation for going out to somebody else.

Let us know

Ken

As the creator of this idea I'd like to offer this reminder

This thread is for those who want to get into the hobby and have a verifiable need, not for someone already in the hobby that just wants a free plane.

The final decision is ALWAYS up to the person doing the giving but as a suggestion, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, verify using the profile section of the member doing the asking.

You can find out allot right there. Thanks

Here is the very first post as a reminder

quote:

Since the movie was Pay it forward and that has basically become the theme of the Freebie thing Razor started, lets use this thread for that purpose.

I would like to suggest that the link to this thread be passed on so this thing can do what it's designed for and that is to get as many people involved as possible

The only rule is that you need to give back to someone that has a need or flat out just needs help in the hobby. If getting some of these free items helps you get a trainer completed so you can train newbies, are a newbie (young and not so young) that really needs things that they cannot afford, etc...

Please do not ask the person that is offering an item or items for them if it just because you want it and don't have it yet. Please let the person doing the offering decide what, and how and who and do not flame, trash, or otherwise downplay their generosity. If you ask for something please follow through. Use "PM" to talk in private about any deal for something that is being offered.

The person that is giving an item has the sole discression as to who gets it. There is no "panel" or "group" that makes that decision

Here is a suggested way to handle this but it is not "set in stone" or is the "required way". Good judgement is the key.

If you are looking for an item, place a post asking if anyone has it
If you have the item and wish to give it to the person asking, then PM the person, get a conversation going and then make the decision yourself if or if not you feel the person deserves the item.

If you have an item or items you wish to give away:

Place a post of the item(s) and be as thorough as you can about the item
If you see an item that has been posted and wish to acquire it, then PM the person that is giving it away and get a conversation going.

I wish to make it well known that RC Universe (RCU) has graciously allowed this post to be pinned permanetly to the top of the beginners thread and I thank them along with the excellent start that Razor did with him giving away the first item in another thread, thank you very much Razor, well done and way too coo!!!!

We can now accept donations. You may send a donation using Paypal to pif @ rcuniverse.com

What makes you think it was radio problems that caused it??? I have crashed two funtanas, ond 40 and one 90 due to mechanical/failure problems. One was my fault, apparently, the rudder failed to act as landing gear while inverted trying to see how low i could go, so that was the mechanical failed crah! haha The other, the 90 size, i fluttered an aileron off while at 1/4 throttle or so in level flight. Those planes are a handful to fly in the air with regards to throttle managment. Maybe yours had a similar fate?

I just couldn't look at a ready to fly sailplane, so i went to the field with my dad and we tried to get it to altitude with a kite string and my dad running...the plane crushed and the stabilizer broke . Right now I'm gonna go try to fix it.

Hi everyone, I really need hi-start for 77!QUOT! sailplane, I am 14 and cant get a job, and i don't even want to ask my dad for anymore money because he we just came to USA and its hard, plus he already works 2 jobs (14 hours a day) to pay off my med bill. So i have this sailplane !QUOT!Raiser!QUOT! i got the kit for only $40 bucks at local hobby store i though it was pretty cheap so i got it, what i didn't realize that to finish it (monokote, sealing iron, and some small things) added up to another $50 but since i already spent so much time in the glider my dad decided that i should finish it anyway, but i don't want to ask him for hi-start too because i know he cant afford it, and the model turned out very nice (no one stepped or fell on it, and my brother didn't even break it!!! )
so everything is smooth and nice. So if anyone has a spear hi-start i can use to launch my glider that would be great.

Thanks

it had reciever problem... u crossed brand using a JR radio w/ a Airtronics reciever, i had gliching problem...and when i was up there doing a dive, i lost control tried to pull up but the plane sputter then crash, when i check, the elevator clevis was broken, so i thot it was a machanical problem, but then the clevis could have broke during the crash... i don't really kno what happened. but if u can help me, i would greatly apreciate it. if someone else need it more than i do, then give it to them. thanks for your time

I have no problems with anyone asking anything, that's not the point. I am just reiterating what the thread is all about. If your plan is to take the trainer you just crashed and forward it to someone in need then great and that fits the PIF theme perfectly, but that part was not mentioned.

If there are any other concerns about this lets take this to PM please
