Hi, I am thinking of using Acetone with 0% Nitro fuel. Due to the unavailability of nitro in my area, I am forced to do this test Let me know the pros and crons of using Acetone with straight fuel with its ratio and btw: someone posted a very good link about the fuels. http://www.holdfastmac.com.au/techfuels.html Thought would like to share.

I am going to try 5% Acetone with regular fuel today and see how it goes.

Glad you liked my web page Goni.

I've never found any difference using 3% acetone in my 2 strokes with zero nitro fuel as far as starting or running are concerned but it's supposed to reduce the ability of the methanol to absorb water so it's probably worthwhile just for that. The guy who wrote the introduction (John Modistach) has been making fuels for one of our largest model shops for many years so I'd go along with his experience using 5% in 4 strokes.

I want 2 try the acetone mix.

But I’m scared it might eat away the plastics and gaskets.

Will the 5% have enough 2 effected anything?
Or will it be 2 diluted?

It won't affect anything. A few times I've bought 20 litre drums of Shell methanol and it's already got 3% acetone in it.

(Edit to add) Sheesh tim, I didn't notice at first you're from Adelaide
