bsumpter -> Corona motor, gyro and ESC choice (8/21/2002 9:39:19 AM)

I'm very happy with my Corona. I'm a fan of both glow and electric power, so I'm not really partial to either. I get around 7 minutes of hover with Sanyo CP1900's, and around 9 minutes of hover with Sanyo CP2400's. All of my packs are 7-cell. If you alreay have some electric support equipment (charger, soldering iron, etc) then you will love the 110 on electric power. I've never flown a glow powered LMH, so I can't comment on how the power would compare to yours. I have read on several occasions that the power is much more controllable when it's electric, because of the smoothness of the ESC and the fact that there is no "power-band" you need to stay in as you do with the glow. Even if you don't have the electric support equipment, consider purchasing what you need to get into the electric side of the sport. It is great for front yard flights, and just packing in the truck with you for those spur of the moment urges. And if you are a plank flyer, there's a lot available to explore there as well.
