I try not to reply to any of the negative threads. I have had a Tmaxx and posted my concerns to the Traxxas site and been shot down by users who would buy a lb of horse droppings if it was being sold by Traxxas. I just look at what is left of my first Tmaxx sitting next to my LST.

I have found the LST exceeds all of my expectations. I have lined it up to the ramp and floored it with confidence more in the last month with very little breakage than I can believe. That being said I don't want to come off as a LST apologist. It is a extreme performance vehicle and you have to expect something to break sometime. It has so many little details that were very thought out, the drain tube on top of the tank, a radio box that is easy to access and designed to drain moisture away if you hit water and mud, ect...

Full Disclosure...

I have broke both a-arms on one side (front) and a CVD. (hit a tree)
I broke a lower a-arm on one side. (hit a rock in a creek bed)
lost the pin in a MIPs CVD and slightly bent. (cartwheeled for a long distance ending up on my lid in the street)
broke a Motor to Skid brace running Tmaxx size wheels (Maximixer Beadlocks with Bowties)

If I had done this with a Tmaxx.... well you know.

This truck rocks.

nice post 2dmaxx....
i absolutely agree these trucks are extreme trucks...and somethings gotta give...just w/the engine power alone....i mean...if you dropped a .26 in every MT out there you would have to do a lot of upgrading....and if you dropped a .15 in an LST....do you think anything would break??? maybe the engine...JK....(sorry...had to say it)
by the way......those shocks look look nice...gotta get some..

Only a gallon, get that truck off the shelf and play with it. With # 252 this means you had this truck since JULY. Do you use it or look at it, take out of the back yard and have some fun.

Sorry, don't do that you might break something.

Yes, this is a great truck and I will continue to race it, but the dang thing can be fragile at times. Thank God, I have a REVO to race as the LST waits for parts. BUT when she is running the revo sits.

i have LST# 252 i have about a gallon though it, and so far....nothing BAD has happened....
almost every thread on this board is bashing this truck... how much do you wanna bet that more than half of those threads belong to people who don't even own the truck...
Now i've owned a couple of traxxas trucks from the past...
also owned a mgt as well...both are great trucks in their own ways....the t-maxx is a solid package as long as you add 2 very important aftermarket parts...
1. aluminum bulkheads
2. RPM arms...
and thats all you really needed, and you could basically have no worries about it..
the mgt....well....the truck did the job..but i really think the boys at AE could've done a better job.
Now for the LST..i think this truck is truly awesome...the power is unbelievable...had a little trouble during break-in that was fixed w/ a new plug. and the brake problem was easily fixed by adjusting the radio settings... i fortunately have not had any washer problem....and my diff cases haven't cracked, leaked, fallen apart by looking at them or any nonsense like that...although i must admit, i did buy a set of aluminum diff covers...i think they look awesome and at $9 each...you can't beat it. i'll install them sometime in the future..IF those diffs decide to fall apart.
i think what a lot of people don't understand that w/fuel, and a battery pack...this is almost a 15lb truck... and if you jump it very high, and maybe decide to go play w/ concrete curbs....i can probably say that you WILL break something.. i myself, do not race the truck...this is i guess you can say is just a basher i like jumpin' and using the LOW to climb....i can say the highest i've ever jumped the truck was about 5 feet high..and nothing broke....(thank goodness)
who knows...maybe i haven't pushed it to the limits that everyone else is doing and that why i haven't broke anything... but still....monster trucks have never really been indestructible!i mean every MT out there breaks. Or needs those certain! aftermarket parts and then life is a lot easier..right? Really..... if you wan't real toughness...go buy a 1/8 buggy... that thing never frickin' breaks.
But then again...w/those who's trucks who have never stopped giving them headaches..i feel your pain and can honestly see your frustration. especially after you have paid close to $600 for the truck....and everything that can go wrong...does...and then there's no frickin' parts available....yes..i'd be (very upset) to put it lightly......

Sorry for this post people.....i had to VENT....tired of the negative stuff.... i enjoy more of the awesome videos, and cool stories rather than the most of the (cr*p) that's out there. feel free to bash me & this post if needed....

PEACE......

LOL!!! the first bash of the post....
while yes...i probably haven't thrown down 3 gallons like the lot of people w/early #'s
i actually bought my truck in late september....i think i'm doing pretty good on fuel consumption...took 2 months to do a gallon....it's too freakin' cold to run it this month...to much rain and snow...
and while you might be one of the people that race...absolutly.. you WILL break something..racing is probably the hardest thing on any r/c car/truck out there...
i think i can speak for everyone.. when they say

racing isn't cheap..

well boogerden....i can only hope that you get the parts your waiting for quickly....
and get back on the track...

and oh yes.....thank GOD you have a revo......we all know that traxxAss never breaks.....

Negative post, maybe you did not read it closely, I am positive about my LST. The reality is as you stated those who use them and put them on a track or race their neighbors would break parts. Those that don’t do not break as many parts. The issues at hand are where some these parts should not be breaking at all or at the rate or frequency they are. According to you when we talk about these issues it is negative. My opinion is this is not negativity but a concern that is shared at this site as we help one another by finding better after market parts or with new ways to doing the same thing. These positive or negative, as you see them can help others make a decision as they are looking at getting a new truck. If one, i.e. me or MANY, Many others don’t take the time on these forums then where would they go to try and make an informed decision. If all you want is someone to agree with you then don’t say anything confrontational or calling everyone else negative. Not all are happy with the LST and they have a right to respectfully post those feelings, as do you when you feel your LST is perfect.

If you take the time and read all the post such as authors like, 2DMAX, PINOLELST, LST RUNNER, JEFX, LST-UK, 4WHEELIN, and many others, they listen and weed through the complaining and then they try to help the person fix those issues. This is why it is a popular site.

Just remember this is not politics, one does not need to hate the Republican, because he is a Democrat or vise versus. Negativity is useful when turned to good things.

Your post has been most refreshing, and I respect your opinion.

absolutely boogarden...i agree w/your last post and some of its' content..
but i never typed out that "my truck is perfect"
when i started this particular post...it was just a, for lack of a better term...."venting?"
not once in any post did i attack anyone for bringing up problems w/their LST
in fact, i remember in the past post that i think it's lousy that they do have problems.
i think what maybe got lost in the interpretation...was i was mainly attacking those who do not have trucks... and or make up really ridiculous claims of breakage...and while yes... there IS something wrong in the manufacturing of some of the LST parts, yes...absolutely LOSI does need to address the issue...and i also mentioned on an earlier post that i do think these forums are great for ideas and help on issues some people can't figure out. Don't get me wrong boogarden...i was not trying to pi** you off.... i was just trying to get my point across.

and oh god please....after this past election.....lets try to stay away from the demo. vs. republ.
i think i had my fair share of that this year... JK

thanks for your last post boogarden...and your last post is taken in fully respected as well..

So, I think we both agree, the LST is big, fast, powerful and a good racer, and one day will more dependable then today. Enough Said.
