i have LST# 252 i have about a gallon though it, and so far....nothing BAD has happened....
almost every thread on this board is bashing this truck... how much do you wanna bet that more than half of those threads belong to people who don't even own the truck...
Now i've owned a couple of traxxas trucks from the past...
also owned a mgt as well...both are great trucks in their own ways....the t-maxx is a solid package as long as you add 2 very important aftermarket parts...
1. aluminum bulkheads
2. RPM arms...
and thats all you really needed, and you could basically have no worries about it..
the mgt....well....the truck did the job..but i really think the boys at AE could've done a better job.
Now for the LST..i think this truck is truly awesome...the power is unbelievable...had a little trouble during break-in that was fixed w/ a new plug. and the brake problem was easily fixed by adjusting the radio settings... i fortunately have not had any washer problem....and my diff cases haven't cracked, leaked, fallen apart by looking at them or any nonsense like that...although i must admit, i did buy a set of aluminum diff covers...i think they look awesome and at $9 each...you can't beat it. i'll install them sometime in the future..IF those diffs decide to fall apart.
i think what a lot of people don't understand that w/fuel, and a battery pack...this is almost a 15lb truck... and if you jump it very high, and maybe decide to go play w/ concrete curbs....i can probably say that you WILL break something.. i myself, do not race the truck...this is i guess you can say is just a basher i like jumpin' and using the LOW to climb....i can say the highest i've ever jumped the truck was about 5 feet high..and nothing broke....(thank goodness)
who knows...maybe i haven't pushed it to the limits that everyone else is doing and that why i haven't broke anything... but still....monster trucks have never really been indestructible!i mean every MT out there breaks. Or needs those certain! aftermarket parts and then life is a lot easier..right? Really..... if you wan't real toughness...go buy a 1/8 buggy... that thing never frickin' breaks.
But then again...w/those who's trucks who have never stopped giving them headaches..i feel your pain and can honestly see your frustration. especially after you have paid close to $600 for the truck....and everything that can go wrong...does...and then there's no frickin' parts available....yes..i'd be (very upset) to put it lightly......

Sorry for this post people.....i had to VENT....tired of the negative stuff.... i enjoy more of the awesome videos, and cool stories rather than the most of the (cr*p) that's out there. feel free to bash me & this post if needed....

PEACE......

You are so right man. I have been coming to this forum since it began and it has been a wealth of useful information and yes I have done some griping as well. But if I see one more thread on "the washer" I will go bananas I was discussing this a few days ago with my wife. I see people saying "I flew it only 15 feet in the air and it broke an axle". Think about the scale of the truck. Multiply 15 feet times 1/8 scale and you get 120 feet. Now come on guys...the best desert trucks out there have the longest travel and most sophisticated suspension available. But, they would not survive a drop from 120 feet. I think the problem is us and the manufacturers. We keep pushing the manufacturers for better products and they keep giving them to us. But the old "You give them an inch and they will take a mile" philosophy is driving us. Now mind you I have flown mine pretty high and far as seen in my vid, but at the same time I was amazed i did not break something and even thought to myself " and this is supposed to be fragile?". So I guess it is our perception of fragile that is the problem and since everybody has their own opinion ( Thank God) then there will always be someone griping about the broken parts.

I just want to go on record by saying I think the LST is a 10 out of 10.

Thanks for listening and I will now retreat to the shadows and wait for someone to run me down for my long and ranting post.

I have to agree with all of you guys. I am one of these guys that beats the he!! out of my truck. I have had NO unexpected problems and I am 3 gallons in to it. I remove the washer right away and I did break a front CVD due to wheelies. Right now it is broken Due to the fact that I missed the landing on a 8' jump - my falt or losi's for not making brake proof a arms. I think that I better take the blame for that one

I have had t-maxx's in the past and this is imo a lot better truck out of the box. I love this truck.

ABSOLUTELY......thank you fourwheeler the point you made is the one i actually tried to get across....
i really think this truck is awsome.. i'm having a blast...i just wish the positive people would post more..more videos...more awsome stunts...more hop-ups...you get the picture.. all the negativity...it's giving me a headache.

1. the truck is great
2. yes....plastic is known to break...even CVD do occasionally....
3. and those who have had bad luck w/their LST.....sorry...i can only wish that it gets better for you....because you must admit.....this truck is frickin' awesome!!!!!!!

and to all the LST bashers....."don't hate the player.....hate the game...."

as far as answering Nubian 1 question....

Hey pitbullracing do you breed american bulldogs? No....but those are cool dogs...
Actually as you can probably guess by my "screen name" i own an AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER. 2nd one i've owned in my lifetime.... great dog..

i now wait for the basher to come forth and tell me that their truck fell apart when they turned the power switch on..

There is a lot of negativity here, but not as much as some other places. Most people come to forums to find fixes for problems they are having, that's why it seems so negative.

If you look at all the negative threads here, they are basically all the same thread over and over. They all refer to the same handfull of issues that the truck has out-of-the-box, but they are just started by different people.

In the Monster Truck forum here, anytime someone mentions or recommends the LST to someone else, there is always a response of "The LST has too many problems, just look at the LST forum". That is not the case. Just look in the other forums as well. Look in the Savage forum and see the posts about bad diffs, or engine trouble. Look in the Traxxas forum and see all the overheating issues with the TRX 2.5, or the constant breaking of a-arms and bulkheads, all the posts of, "How do I make this truck tougher?".

There is negativity at all forums. I don't think that the LST has more problems than anything else. It's just the same problems keep getting posted about.

With that said, I love my LST. It has exceeded all my expectations. For just a few bucks, you can easily resolve all the minor issues that the truck has out-of-the-box. I feel it's one of the best MT's currently available.
