Hi Gaz, Yep your right m8, No Washer inside mine either!!!! 09376 is the Number of mine for the record. Gaz was your Controller a UK import as the Man at the shop where I bought my LST said that ALL UK Imports have the 4 Channel Losi Branded Controller. I have also noticed that it has not got the 30 Multiple Channels, and it takes Crystals. The shop man said that it is Illeagal to have Multiple Frequency Transmitters in this Country and that is why we use Crystals! Is he Pulling my Wire? I've never heard of that? O well apart from that I AM IN LOVE!!! Got all the bits for her, gonna run her in tommorow

im not that clued up about that really but i would say it most likely be that you might need a licence if you were to ever use one but why anyone would need 30 mulitiple channels, the controller i got with the kit is a losi 3 channel ,4 memory .by the way did you seal up the back plate after u looked for the washer.as i had a air leak from there after i reasembled mine. .fitted my cheyenne rims at last they look rather smart

Mine (I forgot the serial number, low 6,000...) had the washer, I found out the hard way. My backplate had red screw lock on it, pain all the way around to get it off. They had to be drilled them off. Eventually got it off, to find about 10 small pieces of metal. Locked the engine up. Everything inside was "touched" by the metal. Oh well. We'll see what happens from here. Whats Horizon's response time like? I mailed it today.

I can only imagine how you feel Jayson, I would be devistated if it happend to me and it would probably put me off R/C even before I started. Where did you buy your LST from?

Once it's fixed buddy it will all be worth while, if my running in session is anything to go by. They turn on Rails as well as peoples Heads!

I could not start my LST after the 3rd Tank of Fuel on Run in Gaz so I think it's either the Air Leak you said about (as I did not re-seal with Gaskit Sealer) or She was flooded so i'm off to buy some Sealer!

WoW Gaz the cheecky S--d's, you honestly must have found a copper who was having a bad day. I run mine at my local Park and although some people can take offence to the Noise, the majority love to see them going round. I mean would the Law prefer you were out Mugging old Ladies, it's a joke and anyone that should complain should be ashamed of themselves. My kids Love R/C Cars and it keeps em out of Trouble, and that is what I will be telling the Filth if they give me any lip! I thought of the Fuel Tank Gaz as the last time I stopped it I used the Primer so it might be that (il'e use the Exaust from now on). I'm just off to start leaning Her out now so I will let you know how it goes buddy!

PS. I looked at the Glow Plug and it looked fine, I know I was running the Low End Needle at 2 1/2 turns out so it was running really Rich so beforre I start Her today I will turn Her back half a turn as well see if that makes a difference!

There is a small black o-ring at the intersection of the flange and the round part of the back plate that extends into the motor. I didn't use any sealent but it definitely won't hurt. I read that after the engine is broken in you could remove the washer. I had between 5 and 6 gallons of fuel (Blue Thunder) on mine before I took it apart and it looked beautiful but I removed the washer any how. Neither me nor any of my buddies have had this problem. Could the fuel or lubricant have anything to do with it? I'm not smart enough to know more than the instructions so we have all used Blue Thunder as they suggested. Just a thought. By the way, the car guy at my local shop said he was told the motor doesn't need these for break in any more and they are no longer included. Nothing lasts forever but this truck rocks!

well heres a ?

I'm picking up an LST on Thursday, should I immeadiately remove this washer right out of the box? or should I go through break-in first?

I'm not acustomed to RTR kits I'm used to buying the real kits and putting it together from scratch, as well as breaking down a new motor before running it for the first time to make sure everything is square.

Let me know please.

My buddy and I just took my washer out last night. It was super easy, so nobody should worry about it being a hassle. Only like 8 screws I believe. I did need to replace the screws that held on the roto start though, they broke and / or the philips heads stripped when I removed them. For the replacements I used 2.5 mm socket (allen hex) head screws, 8 mm long. I got them from the local hobby shop. I also sealed my back plate with a good silicone sealer when we put it back together.

Anyone try heating the backplate up perhaps? maybe not the backplate persay but perhaps the screws themselves? Might help for loosening up the locktite enough to crack the screws without damaging them.

Just a thought.

I plan on buying the truck on Thursday, so what your all saying is I should buy a package of screws for the back plate, along with a hump pack and new receiver?

From DB McGee....I reported that my lhd agreed to tear down my brand new unfired LST #12,524 for me only to find out he wanted $45.00 an hour. I told him abouit al;l the posts about the washer and he said he didn't care what they said on the forums he was only interested in what has happened to his customers not those on the internet. He said he would tear it down if I wanted but unless it was broken he had no interest..Another thing is that after being so friendly before I purchased the LST and knowing that I knew very little about the operation of RC's he now seems disturbed and kind of gives me throw away answers as if He wishes I would go away. This experience needless to say has dampened my enthusism about RC'ing. Sorry for the rant.
