Hi guys i have recently purchased an LST 009602 and spoke to ryan at helgar racing in harlow were i live he has removed mine for me they are great and the support is brilliant,
it appears when they are sent out prior to 11000 ish they are in possesion of the dreaded washer helgar remove them and if your supplier is good he should do it for you as you spent so much on the truck i am told by my supplier free of charge.

love the truck already and it is great to see a group of us forming.

take care

Just removed the washer today, before breaking it in. It sure is thin, does not seem to be made to last at all

Hi...!st time poster. New to the RC fun. Looking to buy an LST and was scanning the forums and came across the "Washer" debacle. Has anyone who has sent an engine in for repair asked for the technician to report if the washer was installed at time of repair?

Has anyone been using a pullstart for the engine? I know they are tougher to use to start engines but if you got a broken in engine that was broken in properly, and well maintained, don't they work well? I always felt ya get a good feel for the engine with a pullstart. I have been thinking of just getting a better engine and pipe and use the Mach for a paperweight..

From DB McGee....I reported that my lhd agreed to tear down my brand new unfired LST #12,524 for me only to find out he wanted $45.00 an hour. I told him abouit al;l the posts about the washer and he said he didn't care what they said on the forums he was only interested in what has happened to his customers not those on the internet. He said he would tear it down if I wanted but unless it was broken he had no interest..Another thing is that after being so friendly before I purchased the LST and knowing that I knew very little about the operation of RC's he now seems disturbed and kind of gives me throw away answers as if He wishes I would go away. This experience needless to say has dampened my enthusism about RC'ing. Sorry for the rant.

Hmmm..

At least I don't feel so bad now. I thought it was just me, but it seems there are other newbies that are running into people who act like d#ckholes in this hobby.

Strange that I find more people willing to talk and be friendly at a really snobby golf course than in the RC hobby. I might just be in the wrong area where there are so few in the hobby that its just the hermits that populate it. They tend to either have poor people skills or have some sort of complex...hehe.

Still having fun though!!

My dads washer has just gone in his LST but we never knew about this problem, its made a mess of the engine, the piston head is all pitted and rough plus the sleave has a few marks on it.
I have e-mailed losi about this but im in the UK and was wondering who to contact about getting it replaced as hes had it since December but only had half a gallon through it

i am in the UK aswell. had the same thing happen to mine. aslong as you have the receipt, it will be replaced for sure. the UK distributor is helgar racing. http://www.helgerracing.com/

phone them up, ask for 'ryan' he deals with warranties. or alternativly send it back to the place you bought it and they will forward it on to helgar racing.
