I am about to start work on mine and am looking at what to fit. I want it as my everday model so don't want to spend a fortune. I already have a set of Jet 1A oleos lying around that I was going to use on a Kangaroo many moons ago but never got round to it. I would love to use these but don't really want to spend a small fortune on the retract unit s and wheels/brakes.

Can anyone tell me what retracts can be used other than Jet 1A? I guess Eurokit are fine? I don't have access to a lathe so can't make up adapters to fit spring air. Is there anywhere that sells adapters?

What about wheels/brakes? What fit the legs without modification (the oleos were bought almost as soon as they came out of that matters to their size)? Has anyone used the Intro on tarmac without brakes and if so, have you had any problems?

And another servo question.........

Again, whilst trying to keep cost down but not being ridiculous with cheap servos what do you think about the following:

  • JR 8321 on elevator (I already have this lying around)
  • JR 811 on ailerons
  • JR 591 on rudders

Thanks

I have just built my second boomer and this time I fitted Jet 1A struts, wheels and brakes in Fei bao retracts. My first one had Sring Air HD's in and they just weren't up to the job! Now the model ground handles perfectly and the brakes are awesome! There was some modification required for the wheel wells and the nose wheel bay, but not a great deal in my opinion. As for servos -

Elevator: JR DS8411
Rudders and nose wheel steering: JR 591
Ailerons: Futaba S3305 (I had them laying around!)

Just waiting on weather and time to test fly now!

Chris

I would reccomend the Jet1A gear. May not be the cheapest, but it will work, and work well. My Boomer has had one heavy(ish) landing, and the Jet1A gear stood up to it no problems!

I also used servos I had in the shed,

JR 8231 Alierons
Jr 591 Rudders
Hitec 5945 Flap / Ele

Cheers,

Greg

THought I would add my recent experiences to this long but great thread:

As some of you would recall, I posted several pages back about my Falcon (dialed down to 18lbs) powered BB climbing very steeply at full throttle. After shimming up to 4 washers to get downthrust and not much result...........I gave in and did a mix of down elevator to throttle. It took about 10 flights to really get it set perfectly but now I don't even notice it and this just became a new plane to fly!
184th flight today! Throttle mix is flat until 1/2 throttle and then +1, +2, and +3(full throttle) on the points.

Thanks for the people that chimed in back then! Now I need a new covering scheme!

Having spoken to Sandor about retracts, I am now looking at the Digitech Pro-Lynx set.

Has anyone used these and if so can you give me some feedback?

I am particularly interested if you have had any problems with the wheel size. The Boomerang manual states that the mains should be 63mm but the Pro-Lynx ones are 70mm. From the pics I have seen they look like quite a tight fit in the wells.

Well I was looking into getting a baby boomerang, but received this e-mail....
Unfortunately I have no more Baby Boomerangs in stock. I do not anticipate receiving any more of this specific model. Keep an eye out for exciting new information in the very near future.
Kind Regards,
Patricia

Does someone else sell the boomerang or does anyone know what if anything will replace this plane.
I have seen it fly off of our grass field and this will be my first Jet.

they must fit
our prototypes also fitted the 70,s
if there is a problem again
i am getting also in about 10 days 63mm inflatables (max 65mm).
so to all who bought the new pro-lynx , if you have any issue,s with the 70mm tyres i will send out 63 for no extra cost.
(i got the oleo,s from you , full refund is ok)

Sandor,

Will the 63mm inflatables that you will receive mount on the rims that we already received or they come with smaller rims/brakes ???? I definitely would love to get those as soon as they arrive !
