Hi,

I have a sixed landing gear with the supplied wheels for the baby boomerang. The wheels got worn now, what replacement wheels shall I use for the supplied fixed landing gear? specs and brand? Thanks.

If i was you i would buy the wheels from Airpower models like the http://www.airpowernet.com/twe/product_info.php?products_id=583
or this http://www.airpowernet.com/twe/product_info.php?products_id=689
and /or this http://www.airpowernet.com/twe/product_info.php?products_id=599
The wheels are 5mm like the stock wire struts of the Boomerang but you better email them first.
Chris

I forgot to mention Highhorse that when you test for Crow braking do it in a high altitude because
the Boomerang might change it's attitude a lot when not exactly trimmed.
Mine needed almost 30% down elevator in order to maintain a neutral attitude and the first time i tried it
with full flap down the plane ballooned up very violently.

I found another use for my Boomerang.
Today i was annoyed from some dogs barking and i decided to show them who can bark louder.
I started the Boomerang at my balcony and pull out a couple wot runs.
All the dogs went silent and still are after an hour....
It was fun to see all the dogs hiding and look scared
Btw i got the Eurokit oil pump from Ebay for a good price and tested it with my brakes (intairco 3 piston brakes).
It works fantastic.
It is a little heavier than the air system since it needs a servo but it does not leak and it looks very robust.
I think my next plane will have hydraulic brakes since the performance is excellent
as long as the system does not leak (i am still testing for leaks).
The main advantage i have seen so far is that braking is truly proportional and the braking points do not change
because of the diminishing air pressure, every brake stick position corresponds to the same braking power
all the time.
Of course the new Jet-tronics brake valve made things much better and that's why i am reluctant to change
my present configuration.
I have also tested a new A123 2S2P pack for powering both the receiver and the fadec and it works fine.
Of course i have fitted a dc filter (common and differential mode) i made between the pack and the receiver
and another one between the pack and the fadec for isolation. Those filter can be made easily from a Computer PSU
or they can be bought ready made as switching power supply dc filters

CROW OMG don't do it!!!!!

I lost mine last year with crow, it was my own fault, activated on the down wind leg, then turned to line up with the runway and didn't realize how much air speed had bleed off, then she went SNAP right into the ground.

I'll never do CROW again.

Does anyone else's BB climb like a bat outta hell @ full throttle? I've tried shimming up the front of the turbine and it didn't seem to help all that much........

Hey Smitty,
Do you have the Falcon or the Bee in yours?

When I had mine I took my Ram 500 out an flew a few flights with my Falcon, vertical was unlimited

Did you try a couple of washers under the front motor mounts?

I have the Falcon in it - although I have about 30 flights with the Bee...................... I have around 100 with the Falcon installed!! - I just have gotten used to holding down stick when I accel

I have 2 washers under the front tabs - should I go real drastic with like 3 or 4?? I was wonder at what point it would start to have the opposite effect?

program an elevater down mix with throttle.

program an elevater down mix with throttle.

But if he does that isn't there a problem where the elevator moves instantaniously, out of sync with the power which lags a bit?

Based on what I've read here in this thread, shim it more.

If yours climb when you increase throttle but stay level with low thrust then yes shim it some more.
Also check the airframe for any warping.
I use 2 shims of about 1mm (it could be three i don't exactly remember)
and it doesn't change it's attitude when i command full throttle.

From what i have seen crow braking is effective only if your turbine is much larger than intended for the Boomerang intro.
My turbine has a lot of residual thrust and it can taxi pretty fast and almost fly while in idle.
Crow braking is the only way for me if there is absolutely no wind and the runway is sort and made of tarmac.
Of course now that the former Athens International airport with its 10000 feet runway is open, i never use crow braking

OK, I'm going to go for 4 washers in the front! (I have 3 now!)

I guess this is why the engines hang off of the back of the king cats in a "can't be right" way!

Hi.
Here is a short list of what in my mind you should logically watch for.
Please make sure that:
1) You haven't glued the wing with an angle.
2) That the elevator is level when the elevator stick is at rest.
3) That the flap is level when the flap widget is in "flap up"
4) That the turbine clamp is not warped.
5) That the turbine body can swivel freely so when you add the washers the turbine can really aqquire
an angle as a whole and not the clamp only.
6) That the turbine clamp is solid enough and doesn't flex when power is on.

Sorry if the list contains obvious things, i just wrote down all the reasons for the behavior you describe that i could think off.
I measured mine externally and it has a turbine body angle of ~6 degrees.
Let us know when you test fly the Boomerang again.
Chris
