When is the 777 comming out????? I almost have mine RTF, just need to attach aileron control rods, and steering control rod. A mini camera may be a pretty cool idea, just can't wait for the test flights.

Michael

The 777 is still in development and testing. Kamdax is being very tight lipped about the status. That is what I know.

This next suggestion is just my opinion so please don't take it as the official and final word. Licensing has recently become a major topic of discussion on the internet boards. See this thread over in jets: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2442625/anchors_2442625/mpage_1/key_licensing/anchor/tm.htm#2442625

Boeing has been known to behave similarly to Lockheed in these manners. I recall a company making slope glider 747s that had to pay a licensing fee and carry a significant insurance policy before Boeing would allow them to proceed. This type of behavior could be a big stumbling block to the 777 from ever seeing the light of day in the US.

IF this is the case I'm sure I will become involved at some point and have to decide if the fees I am asked to pay can be justified by the anticipated sales volume.

I may be making this too simple. But can't you just market it as an "airliner" I mean just looking at it you can't tell if its a boeing or an airbus. It could be a 737 to a 777 or several airbus models. It doesn't have anything on it that I would see that would make it as distiguished as the P-38.

That is one thought. GWS markets a Quad Cargo something that was originally supposed to be a C-130. IF it comes down to a licensing issue and I am somehow involved then I agree that "Airliner" sounds like a good product name for that one.

I have several requests in the waiting list for the airliner. If you send me an e-mail note I will add you to the list and you will be informed when the status of the plane changes.

Hey guys, is this 777 model going to be nitro powered?

I agree with RealDeal in that my experience with Kamdax has been excellent. Very fast and nice responses to all of my emails. I recently asked how the F-16 was coming along and the rep said:

"F-16 every thing on schedule. Thank you."

Oh boy oh boy.

a camera for the mig? I'm not sure. How would it handle the vibration?

The 777 shown in the videos is nitro powered.

Good question about vibration. I'm sure they will have video samples available.

Do you guys think the HS-55 servo on the elevator will be OK for the first few flights? That's all the LHS had at the moment.

I think the HS-55s will be fine. They actually fit perfectly in the stock locations. That is what I use all around on the electric versions. I just would do any power dives until you can the more powerful servo back there.

Keith, what more powerful servo would you recommend that would fit back there?

The Hitec HS81 has been mentioned by others. I will have the Kamdax servos available in a couple weeks. They are rated at 2.2kg/cm vs 2.6kg/cm for the HS-81 and 1.1 kg/cm for the HS-55.

I put an HS60 on the elevator of mine. I took it out today for the first flight, but it was way too windy. Maybe tomorrow.

Randy flew his Mig today. He had the throws turned way up before the maiden.
Roll & loops better than mine, so I turned mine up to match his. He was
disappointed in the speed as well, but they're still fun. He ran one tank
for break in & off it went! A few more flights for mine & I'll remove some
shims...

I flew to up to 11,000 MSL today, with a friend in his 1968 172.
My highest in a non-pressurized aircraft!

Later!

Johnny C!

I got 4 flights in today. I probably have 60 flights on the motor. The motor just gets faster with time. When the motor is set just right the plane rocks right along for a little 1/2a. I think you'll enjoy the speed available with some 3' off the ground speed passes while axial rolling down the runway. At least the peanut gallery will whoo and ahaa with such stunts. The plane is so stable its pretty easy to perform.
Enjoy

That's cool guys. I'm still tweaking mine for more speed (with much appreciated help from Tom) and hopefully mine will scoot like those descriptions soon. I'm going to up my throws today, remove another shim, and soon I'll be running 40% through it.

Johnny C, where is Brevard? Don't think I've ever been there. I live in a small town called Whiteville (Columbus County) at the southeast end of the state.

All I got to do is start mine this weekend. Still waiting on a reciever battery from local hobby shop. All I can say is MAN is that thing LOUD. I'm guesing it it a little more quiet with the front piece on, but I was just breaking it in so I let it get in as much cooling air as possible. Still very shocking how loud it was, I've never really delt with a small engine like this before.

I broke mine in with a prop and muffler on my test stand, then I took the muffler off and replaced the prop with the fan. I have to admit that even though I've run a lot of little engines without mufflers, it still made me jump when it fired up.
