Thats a good list A-10. I like the Morane-saulnier m.s.406 idea. I also love the Lagg-3, but the wing shape of Russian birds has me a little apprehensive. Yak, Lagg, La-5, they all look the same. The I-16 is really cool, but there are a few out there already.

Ok give me the single engine, non-fighter wish list.

The Defiant is a Mk 1. I started covering my other project last night. Looks like it should go pretty well. I should have that plane out of the way soon, and we should have a defiant build thread going sometime next week. However, I just got a good bid on laser cutting, so I think that step one will be double checking all my parts, and ordering the laser cut kit. Then accuracy errors can't just be blamed on my own bad cutting. If this plane turns out to be a good flyer, I am considering a limited kit run. Maybe a dozen and see how it goes. Stay tuned.

Thanks again A10Jim. I hope it turns out as good or better as my last project. Check it out.

Ok everybody, sorry for the delays. My.....gulp.....non-warbird project has taken up a lot more time to complete than I thought. Not to mention the house project and everything else. I ordered the parts lazer cut so they should be here soon. With them not being cut by hand it will help to verify the accuracy of the drawing during building as well. Stay posted.

Here is the distraction. It is I believe, a Astro flite Porterfield Colegiate. I had basicly nothing to work with. The wing is scratch built, the cowl is something I found in the basement. The gear is....? I don't know what its from. Pretty much a bunch of screwed and glued spare parts. It has an OS .40 La with a pitts muffler and a 67" span.

Weight is only 4 Lbs 6oz.!!! Should be a real floater.
