Sir:

I have a question regarding your Power Expander and Bat Share that would be used in combination.

Since the Bat Share draws in the vicinity of .47V from your regulated batteries, why not have dual battery in ports on the Power Expander?

Seems like anyone setting up a big bird is going to have 2 battery sources (regulated if they are Lithium's) and the need for 2 ports on your expander is a "must have".

This is what is keeping me from purchasing your Power Expander.

As always this is my humble opinion (IMHO)

It is possible to use the "output" power port as an input if you like. You just need to change the sex on the battery/regulator lead to a male. Internally, the input and output are wired together. If you need me to expand any on this just ask.

Good to hear I can use the output as an input also. The only problem I see with that is if one battery goes sour (shorted for instance) this would compromise the good pack. Some internal diodes or switching would have to be employed, correct? Perhaps the user could do that externally?

Your answer has not ruled out your product. Actually it has brought it back to the table for more consideration. The price is attractive, thats for sure.

Well, you said you did not want the 0.47V drop of the BatShare but that is exactly what you are proposing. The BatShare isolates the two batteries from each other. If you are using two regulators they will isolate the packs, but beware, you may get uneven drain of the batteries if you use two regulators. We made the unit for flexibility and, if it sells well enough, we will come out with some other configurations. Thanks for your interest.

i want to run 2x 4700 li-ion 7.4v into a batt share then into a regulator then to the box can this be done - what other options

The configuration you propose will work just fine. At the moment there are not any other solutions. We should have some new regulators with dual-battery inputs and failsafe switching coming out in the March time frame. You don't say what size plane this is so I cannot talk about the regulator size you need.

i needed to say that i will use 8x 5945(6v) on the wings and 2x 5995(up to 7.4v) on the elevators an a seiko on the rudder with it's own batt.

i also see that you have a dual regulator.

We do not have the dual regulator shipping yet. We are in final beta testing and expect to have production for sale in late February or early March. We are moving on this as quickly as we can. You may want to check Fromeco for your needs as they have very good product. The currently sell a regulator that will handle more current than our present offerings.

I tryed to do all the connections like the typical installation configurations but i only get power from one of them,but when i connect the radio and turn the radio on none of them work and the led is still on. the insatallation that works is the battery lithium to the super switchHD to the duralite regulator to the power expander and their is no response.In my opinon my power expander is not working.So what do you suggest i should do.Please Email me as soon as possible.

First, you are sure you got the + and - of the Deans connector right? I am sure you double checked this but I have to ask. Second, are both LEDs on? Have you checked the power on one of the servo connectors to see if you have power there? You can try plugging a servo directly into the receiver to see if it is powered an outputting a signal. Please let me know what you find after doing these things.
