Artin your Mustang project look fantastic. Some day I would love to build one so I am going to say with this post untill you finish her. A Metal-Morphed Mustang would look great in our stable Our process of Seamless Alunimum plating is very durable and will not scratch but unfortunitly its not a DIY process.

Skyflying 1,
I used this trim scheme on my TFGS, it is documented as RED DOG X11. Glassed and painted with Chevy Impala Silverstone metallic, then clear coated.......If you would like a photo, send your Email address I am not sharp enough on this machine to scan the pics..

Hello

I'm new to this forum and getting back into R/C for the first time since
the 80's and my youth! Built a bunch of planes back then and now I'm
excited to build the dream giant P-51 I've always wanted.

Just ordered the Ziroli plans and scouring for as much info as I can about
what to expect in happy surprises, minor problems, and or changes to be
made from the plan, building choices etc.

I love building from balsa so I'm pretty sure I'll do the whole kit that way.

I have not received the plans yet...I feel like a kid anticipating x-mas!

Love to see more pictures of the P51 build ArthurK ..is it done yet? ....and more of what you guys are all doing...they look great
the ones that are up. Some great tips!

Mat

OK Dan...the scoop. I'd work on the wing first and then hit the scoop last. You'll need the wing
sheeted in the saddle to properly fit the scoop as it attaches to the bottom of your wing skin as
well as the fuse. I made some ply-wood brackets for the scoop and epoxied them in place. I
shimmed the outer edge of the scoop on the fuse to get a smooth fit from the fuse to the scoop.
Let me know if there are other pictures I can help you with. ~ Wade

Hello

Recieved the plans a few weeks back and have them on the wall while I finish up my H9 P-51 1.5. . Plans l ookgreat...still deciding which kit builder to go with?

Not to take away from this killer site and forum, but if you want some more building shots, check this out - it's in German though but lots of pics.

Skyflying1,

Thank's, That will help me fine. Please post wing and tail pic's and firewall pic's
also I am using 1/5 scale gear not the Robart off set gear so I will have to do some mods to the
gear blocks on the wing.

I used the wood given in the kit for the firewall and added dowels to pin this in place. Also
I added carbon fiber cloth to the front that wrapped around the gas box. I wrapped this area twice,
once from the sides and once from the firewall back.

And for the landing gear I used 1/4 ply wood laminated with carbon on top and bottom.
The wing had to be dug up a lot to make this modification however it's really strong.
The mains are from Sierra Precision.
