hi
could you tell me what size propeller to use for breakin on my mvvs 28 also what are some sizes to use after breakin engines are going in a twin engine a-10 warthog so i have to watch my propeller length because of engine placement looking at 8-6 (3 blade) would this be ok engines will be rear exhaust with mini tuned pipe any propeller suggestions would be helpful thanks

Bud,

The MVVS .28 is capable of spinning a two-blade 8x6 at around 17,000 RPM.
So this is the prop size I would recommend for break-in, with the tuned silencer.

The tuned exhaust for this engine (#3244) is non-adjustable and is tuned for RPM levels of 13-17,000 RPM. Loading this engine with a 3B 8x6, which is equivalent to a 9x6 two blade, from a load perspective, which is a good load for this engine.

In fact, you can use any prop that will keep the engine in the lower part of the tuned silencer's effective RPM range.

If you use too large a prop, it may not get on-the-pipe in static ground conditions and even worse, it may unload and get a big boost, when it is unloaded at flight speed.
This will make the mixture setting too lean and could damage the engine.

When any engine with a tuned exhaust gets on-the-pipe, it requires much more fuel to utilize the exhaust supercharging to produce more power, without going lean.

So when selecting the prop and adjusting your engine, make sure it spins between 13,000 and 15,000, in ground static conditions.
