    Status: offline     		Not sure on the thrust on the 2204 but it only weighs 24g and on thee cells it pulls a tensor strait up like a missile. I know this is way beyond the ratings for this motor but I have not had a problem yet .... On a 9x4.7 on three cells it draws 9.5 amps. full throttle is rarely used.

    Status: offline     		10 ounces --If I tried to hover my plane it would fall on the ground-or am i getting the wrong idea here??

    When they say "10 ounces of thrust" does it mean that that is what it is capable of pulling or is it the the weight of the plane you should pull with.
    I dont think that ia m getting this

    Status: offline     		That is the thrust that the motor is putting out with a certain prop. That will change if you use different props. Need more information to put a thrust number on a motor. You want more thrust than the complete weight of your plane if you want to hover, at least 1.5 to 1 or greater.

    Status: offline     		Just went out and bought my Tensor for my son today, I want the awesome setup, Horizon sugessts the Park 370 Outrunner Brushless, 1360Kv, 7.4V 860mAh 2-Cell LIPO,JST & the 10 x 4.7 Slow Flyer Prop, is this really the best setup? I fly only outdoors. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Status: offline     		I fly outdoors with that setup, with one change. I use a TP 2S 1900 battery because I wanted more run time and more weight. Works great, added just under an ounce, but in light wind, you want that weight.

    Status: offline     		Well, being in winnipeg, I haven't had tons of time to try it out, but I did have one perfect night, light wind. Flew for about 15 minutes getting used to this plane (learn to use rudder, or learn to watch your plane going straight in a knife edge) and landed. Then some people came by and their kids wanted to see it fly so I landed my formossa and put the tensor up again for at least 10 more minutes. After getting it home, I still had around 500ma in the battery.
    I find with the extra weight it fly's more like an airplane than a box kite. It had no issue with the light wind, sank at a decent rate for landing, and still had plenty of power to pull up out of a hover (my version of a hover anyways). With this battery though, plan your weight. If you look back at the pictures, you can see how I mounted my battery, and by enlarging the slot so I can shift the weight back, I can drop to a 1200 2S and shed over 1/2 ounce right there. AUW is under 11 oz with the 1900 pack, and 10.4 with the 1200. If I drop to a 730, I'm sure I'd be close to or under 10.

    Status: offline     		On my tensor we decided to not cut out a slot for the batt. for fear of it causing a weak spot in the airframe--
    Instead we put the Rx. and the ESC on one side so we could put the batt. on the other side and get it all balanced.

    With this setup i can lay a peice of velcro across the fuse to adjust the C.G. easily-- If you cut out a big hole and want to change your CG you are forced to make the hole bigger and that means that it would make it that much weaker.

    jackmccomas-I am running an AXI 2208/34-it is great, Some people are also running a AXI 2204/54. but if you go with that motor you will definately have to build light- i like lots of power and for some reason the 2204 doesnt seem like enough.

    Just my opinion

    I thought of that too with the battery, but if you look at the picture, I put a rod of CF over the top where the slot was cut out for the battery for strength. There is enough left over from the kit when you finish to do it. The slot isn't that thick with a 2S battery so I noticed no difference in strength at all.

    Status: offline     		I usually fly at an open field near Lipset Hall, grant and keneston. About 4 soccer fields in size and a few blocks from my house. I don't know those guys, I do know a Len, but his last name starts with G, and he is into large jets last I checked. Don't belong to a club, with electric, I found that I didn't have to leave town to fly. I deal a lot with the guys at Cellar Dwellar, the only real hobby store here. Have been to a few fun fly's. Do you know Jim at Cellar Dwellar, he rented a place for an indoor fly a few weeks ago that he said went pretty well. No tensors there though, I should have brought mine, but had the kids that night. Where do you fly out of?

    Tyler is flying 3S 11.1V batteries, TP730 & TP1320. Not 2S, which are much thinner. The cutout would completely sever the fuse because they are too thick.

    This thing SMOKES with the AXI 2208/34 and 10x3.8 on the 11.1V. Overpowerd, no doubt. He like that

    Status: offline     		Ok, yes, you would cutout another chunk, probably right to the edge. But then again, with CF, you can keep it strong there, and I noticed no strength loss once I used CF, just wanted to keep the battery centered since it weighs more than my speed control and receiver.
