Bob S.

Since you are in upstate NY how about going to White Plains NY to the W.R.A.M. Show? Power Master is always there with fuel by the truck load and always have a reasonable price. That is where and how I get my fuel and live 175 miles south of White Plains. I have used their fuel for several years and have not had any problem with the 10% which I use year round. The other places that I can get fuel locally are much more expencive. What I save in fuel more than pays for the tickets to the show. I hope this helps.

bob_nj -> Here's My 5% (1/26/2002 6:56:22 AM)

Been using 5% S&W in everything from .40~1.35 for years.
Stanley is a great guy too. Check him out at
http://www.s-whobby.com/ He makes alot of the pattern meets and sells at veryreasonable prices in drums or cases in the Pa,NJ and Del areas ;)

Planeboy P51 -> Who Flys What Fuel? (1/27/2002 3:19:33 AM)

Powermaster 15% in my two-strokes ;)

Performance Plus 15% in my Saito (20% oil) :p

Powermaster YS 20/20 in my YS :D

Jim Messer -> Who Flys What Fuel? (1/30/2002 5:56:10 AM)

I run all gasoline. In the past 25 years that has saved me about $9000.00 in fuel cost - had I needed to purchase glo-fuel instead. Go Gas!

Mendes -> Who Flys What Fuel? (1/30/2002 6:13:19 AM)

2 strokes Byron 15%
4 strokes PowerMaster 4 stroke 15%

I used to use PowerMaster in my 2 strokes also but tried the Byrons once and noticed alot more oil residue on the plane at the end of the day, so I switched. More cleanup time required but I think its worth it for the well being of my engines.

FlyingHi -> Who Flys What Fuel? (1/31/2002 6:33:06 PM)

I use Wildcat 2 / 4 -15% nitro 18% syn and add 2.5 oz of castor oil and .5 oz of Marvel Mystery Oil. Marvel mystery oil will not add directly to the fuel. I add it to the castor oil, warm it in the micro wave. It will then go into the mix. I run this blend in all of my 2 & 4 stroke engines. The addition of the Marvel Mystery Oil keeps the carbon from becoming hard in the exhaust valve area of my Saito 4 strokes. Also I do not need any after run oil with this mixture.

RAYTELI -> Who Flys What Fuel? (1/31/2002 10:00:29 PM)

I RUN MY OWN MIXTURE CONSISTING OF 20% NITRO, 20% KLOTZ SUPER TECHNIPLATE (CONTAINS 20% CASTOR OIL), 4 DROPS OF ARMOR-ALL PER GALLON. ARMOR-ALL IS USED AS AN ANTI-FOAMING AGENT. I FIND THAT THIS MIXTURE RUNS WELL IN ALL APPLICATIONS. HELI ENGINES, LARGE SUPER TIGRES, AND FOUR STROKES. I DID HOWEVER, HAVE TO DECOMPRESS A MDS 1.48 TO KEEP IT FROM DETONATING. THIS WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY ADDING TWO EXTRA HEAD GASKETS.

A GOOD COMMERCIAL MIXTURE THAT THE FLIERS USE IN THIS AREA IS SIG 15% NITRO FUEL WITH A 50-50 MIXTURE OF SYNTHETIC/CASTOR.

THANKS, RAY

Planeboy P51 -> Who Flys What Fuel? (2/3/2002 7:04:30 AM)

how much oil is in cool power 15% airplane fuel?

vertigo -> 15% cool power (2/3/2002 10:48:08 PM)

Planeboy,

17% synthetic oil in cool power

can773 -> Who Flys What Fuel? (2/4/2002 12:23:19 AM)

XP 25% Pro-Pattern
XP 30% Heli (for those hot days!!)

XP is a Canadian fuel that is quite popular in the western end of the country.

danielfd -> Who Flys What Fuel? (2/4/2002 10:49:49 PM)

Byron 10%nitro is my favorite :)

Jet-Waynger -> Power Master!! (2/6/2002 10:52:07 AM)

I use Power Master 15 & 30% all synthetic.

Next gallon I am going with YS 20/20, more than enough nitro for .30 & .60 size heli's (Yes, even doing 3d manuevers).

MarkNovack -> Coolpower. (2/18/2002 5:24:12 PM)

I use Coolpower 30% heli

Coolpower 15%

Coolpower FAI.

Stright from the jug. No compaints other than I wish it were all about $1.00 per gallon.

Mark

littlefly -> fuels (3/19/2002 6:02:06 AM)

Been using Good ole Fox Superfuel since my control line days. At 10% nitro, 29% Castor it has never done me wrong. Got some foxes 40 years old that still run great on it. K&Bs seem to love it too.
Even the AP .09s run good on it!

Scotty740 -> Who Flys What Fuel? (3/19/2002 6:22:43 AM)

Changed from Cool Power 30% heli to WildCat 30% heil mix last year and haven't looked back. :D

Nuker -> Who Flys What Fuel? (3/19/2002 6:56:23 AM)

used to use Byron 20% oil, 10% nitro in the 2 strokes.

Converted last year to Wildcat Premuim 15% Nitro for 2 and 4 strokes. Just ordered 2 cases; (won't have to buy fuel for another few weeks now :D )

nun45 -> Who Flys What Fuel? (3/19/2002 7:53:37 AM)

i switched from cool power to byrons and have not lost an engine to lack of oil since.---henry

niche -> Who Flys What Fuel? (3/27/2002 2:05:58 AM)

I use homemade glow fuel
82% methanol
9% Castor oil
9% Motul micro (100% synthetic) oil
It works fine, I am in Bogota Colombia with almost 10.000 feet of altitud and fly confortable
Regards

THOMKP J -> FUELS (3/30/2002 7:34:09 PM)

I USE SIG STRAIGHT CASTOR IN ALL MY ENGINES.20% IN MY SPORT ENGINES AND 23% IN MY DUCTED FAN ENGINES.THE FUEL KEEPS THE ENGINES RUNNING COOLER,AND IT INCREASES THE ENGINES LONGEVITY - PLUS IT PREVENTS RUST INSIDE THE ENGINE! :)

f2racer -> Who Flys What Fuel? (4/2/2002 8:48:11 PM)

I'm currently only running 2 strokes. My first gallon was 10% S&W which was OK. I then got 10% Sig Champion which made the engines run better (IMHO). I will probably get some 15% S&W to compare since it's about $3 cheaper for a gallon than the 10% Sig.

THOMKP J -> Who Flys What Fuel? (4/2/2002 8:50:49 PM)

I`M NOT FAMILIAR WITH S&W FUEL.

DeadMeat -> Who Flys What Fuel? (4/2/2002 9:21:12 PM)

Currently I use Powermaster 5% nitro 18% oil mix in all my planes.

I haven't been able to round up any F.A.I. in town. Otherwise I would try that.

ramcharger -> Who Flys What Fuel? (4/3/2002 9:27:33 PM)

How come the "homebrewers" never respond when asked where they get their methanol or nitro? Still waiting for reponse to brc007 thread.

Fuelman -> Who Flys What Fuel? (4/4/2002 4:13:36 AM)

Ramcharger,
Methanol and nitromethane can be purchased from any racing shop that handles TORCO products. I know there are other suppliers, but TORCO has national distributers. I have no idea how small of a quantity you can purchase.

By the way, I fly only Cooper's Fuels
