Which heli are you referring to? The heli has to be designed to do that

The chinook is not a stock AFPD heli. Where did you download it from?

There are two versions of chinooks at rcsim.de. From the model descriptions, it looks like they are not designed to carry cargo. I don't think there's a heli model in AFPD that can carry cargo too.

The readme file was written in German and a very rough translation by altavista seems to indicate that there is a cargo and sliding door.

In AFPD controls, you can try to assign the "tow hook" to drop the cargo and the "wheel brake" to slide the door. You can assign these functions to numerical keypad 1, 3, 7 or 9 (Numlock must be on), or you can assign to any switch on your radio. When you have done the control assignment, remember to perform calibration on the radio switches.

I did not actually try this on the model, so you have to try it yourself

But how do i attache the cargo, schould i load in the the cargo model like an airplane?

If that, it wont work, because the heli will just fly tru the cargo!

It is best that you get the details from the authors themselves Jürgen Behrens and Aad. Their RCU usernames are Yogi149 and Aad respectively

bailey, which nvidia card are you using? Try updating the driver for your nvidia graphics card to the latest version. The recommended video cards and system requirements are given here http://www.aerofly.com/www/requirements.html Smoke, clouds, and other features in AFPD will take up more resources and if you are using a slower video card, it will be advisable to disable these features. It will also help if you terminate any programs running in the background such as spywares and viruses which will take up a lot of your system resources and slow down AFPD.

REAL PLANES... in AFPD...

Hi... Mike.... I'm from Venezuela... so, please be patience with my english writting...

I already have AFPD... and I have been searching trought a lot of diferents post about planes that act like the Real ones... the most and almost only comment that I read wast de CAP 232 TOC (usa flag cover) that came with AFPD...

But I would like to have other models that act like the Real ones... Please I will apreciate if you can help me with that...

or if there is any Special configuration or Set-up in the AFPD to help others models act as real as possible...

And a last thing... Before a few months of training with AFPD in Aerobatic 3D... do you think that when I get to the real thing.. like a Foam 3D flyer... Will be easier for me to do the sames aerobatics that I used to do in the Sim... I mean... is really helpfull learn to do hoover and torque rolls in AFPD... so became easier in real life...???

Hi Rodriguez, the airplane flight physics of AFPD is the best you can find. The stock planes fly great out of the box and do not need any tweaking. Of course, you will have to set up the planes correctly i.e. with the right amount of throws (high and low rates). My personal favourites are the Cap 232 and Extra 330. You could also download many free and good aerobatic planes like the Quique Yak54 and Votec from the sites given here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5044008/tm.htm AFPD is the best learning and training tool for 3D and you will be able to learn all types of 3D maneuvers. There is a good thread on 3D training and you can download the videos (made with AFPD) here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4459958/tm.htm

Here are some 3D and IMAC videos made with AFPD. Hope you like them

Mike.... thanks a lotttt.....

I was hopping to hear something like that, cause that mean that all my days of training worth it... and when I get with a real one.. like the foamy 3D that I'm building I'll be able to do some 3D stuffs....

ONE LAST THING...

I own a Futaba 6EX Radio.... in order to fly and get the most of thoses 3D planes in AFPD... what mixes do you recomend to me... i.e. My configuration till this moment is the following...

HI RATES: 120%
LOW RATES: 80%

MIX MOTOR to Down Elevator Set to 1%

The Exponencial are set to "0" cause I don't understand it very much....

Again.. thanks a lot...

Jaime Rodriguez..

Hi Rodiguez, you could set dual rates (low and high rates) for all your control surfaces. However, when you do this, you must calibrate AFPD at high rates. I don't think a motor mix is necessary. If you're flying 3D, expos is a must to "soften" the sticks around neutral. I normally use about 20-40% expos on low rates, and 50-80% expos on high rates. Every plane is different, so you will have to try different settings until it feels right. If you are a beginner, I would also recommend using a lower simulation speed e.g. 70-80% and adjust upwards once you are more proficient. Of course, you can also minimize wind and turbulence effects.

Hi.
I have AFPD (USB version) and run all updates.
I use a Futaba 9 ch Tx and when I start the callibration, after centering all the controls, in next step everything is moving, withought any control from the Tx. Also, channels 6 and 7 move together. Any suggestions?
Thanks for you help.

Takis, I suggest you go through Chapter 10 of your manual first. This covers calibration and channel setup

Hi joe, if you're referring to throttle delay, you would have to do that from a programmable radio.

Rajul.
Please help if you can. A couple of weeks ago I downloaded the latest
version of Aerofly and since doing so the display area seems to be limited
in the vertical plane. If I fly close to the flight line, the plane
disappears off-screen at about 30 feet of altitude and even when I fly out
at 150 meters large maneuvers still disappear off the top of the screen.
My previous version didn't do this so any help you could give me to correct
this anomoly would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
George

Rajul,
I'm not sure what the definition of addons is? I only downloaded the latest version in order to download a couple of new models like the Osmose and the Giles 222. Otherwize my sim is configured as it came from the factory and it sure worked well previously to this download. I use it to practice pattern sequences and the loss of visual contact is disconcerting to say the least. I also fly with wind at 90 degrees to the flight line and when the new version was loaded the wind was 180 degrees to the previous iteration. I wish that updates didn't lose some of the desirable features of previous versions.
George

Hi George, what disks do you have apart from the main AFPD disk? Can you tell me the version number printed on your main AFPD disk?

Pls try the following: in the flying menu, under view1->viewing options what is your setting for the height dependant vertical camera? Try reducing the % of the "height dependant vertical camera" to between 50 and 100.

It's a good thing you're not handy or I'd kiss ya !!!!!!!!!!!! You hit it right on the nose. That worked fabulously. Now I have my old sim back.
I can't thank you enough !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As you can tell, I'm a pretty happy camper.
Thanks much !,

I read through this thred but not all 12 pages. I tried to search the AFPD forum but did not get any results. I want to change the CG of a plane but do not see where to do it in the edit mode. The only way I can see to do it is to make the tail surfaces heavier. Is there a way to put in a # value for the CG?
