Status: offline 		Hi everyone. This question relates to the length of the manifold on the FG 3 piece tuned pipe. I fitted one yesterday to my Marder and thought it was longer than it needed to be. By cutting an inch or so off the length of the manifold the fittment of the pipe could be a whole lot neater. Now I do understand that the pipe is a tuned length so my question is would cutting the manifold affect the performance of the pipe or not? Has anyone tried it? Sorry this first post is a bit in depth but you know how it is.

Status: offline 		If you have not done it yet but take a lock at part 2, the curved one, notice how one end is slightly shorter?
Place that end towards the mainfold.

Status: offline 		changing the length would not be clever
it will move the power band
and if i remember correct it will come in further up the rev range and be pants at low end,
guess fg did all the testing and decided on that length

Status: offline 		Hehehehehe to think I never noticed the length of both sides of that bend, I got a melted front window mesh on my marder, had plastic driping every where.

Status: offline 		I run my marder with the body on back to front to stop the melting grill problem and no i`m not showing any pictures .on a serious note i would not advise modifying the pipe length if you want to keep the performance you`ve got,take off to much and you`l end up with less performance than the stock pipe in the lower rev range.i`ve fcuk ed about with two strokes for a few years and have learnt to stick to manufacturers original designs(they don`t pay R and D departments for nothing).
