OK:

Been playing with AFPD all weekend and love it, but I use it with my regular 8U transmitter and it has to be plugged and unplugged to power the trannie down.

Well, the connector on the AFP cable is kind of chincy, and it's now falling apart a bit. Basically the connector is two halfs of a circle, instead of a solid tube, and one half of the tube is overlapping the other, causing fit problems. I think this is going to be a QC issue, and should be remedied. Is anyone else having a problem like this?

Dion? Is this an issue? Can I get a replacement connector that doesn't fall apart?

Thanks,
Lee Snover

Just slide back the black plastic and put them back together if they are slipping apart. These are standard DIN cables, same you get at Radio Shack.

If you want a replacement we can get you one. But these are the same dongles that have been shipping with AFP for the last couple years now.

Dion:

Thanks for the quick response!

I'll give it a shot. Does you or anyone know if there is a better quality connector out there that could be retrofitted? Radio Shacks parts never really impressed me. ;-)

Hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Like I said, these guys are standard cables. Slide that black plastic back and just re-seat them.

If they look bent or something, let me know, we'll ship out another!

Dion:

Thanks, the two halfs just aren't quite flush on the end. I pulled it apart and put some electrical tape around the back part of the barrel. Everything is snug for now, I'll see how it works. It would be better if the barrels where solid, like on the actual Futaba Training cables.

Again, thanks for your quick response. I'll let you know if it continues to give me trouble.

One other question. How do you install downloaded planes?

Thanks!
