I already placed my order. I am now excited for it to arrive. I will not keep it with a brushed setup. Eventually one of my brushless motors will be installed. For now will use a 19t Venom because it was cheap and I wanted to try one.

Here is what I ordered:
Tamiya 1/18 TLT-1 Max Climber Kit
EMS Servo Reverser JR/Hitec/Z
2 of Futaba S3003 Servo Standard
Venom Fireball 19T Double Motor
Tamiya Ball Bearing Set TLT-1

I already have an ESC for now. The Traxxas elcheapo thing from a Traxxas bandit and already have my radio gear. Main thing I will have the 4 wheel steering and bearing from the start which is very cool.
.

How hard is it to swap motors in a TLT-1?

EXAMPLE:
If today I want to give a go with a brushless motor and later same day I want to use a brushed motor - how much work is it to pull one motor out and put another in? For a touring car it is real simple, but for trucks sometimes is more work.

Cheers.

Not too much, but more work then your average truck/car...
It's not as easy as a mini T or anything but you could do it in ten min or so...

You need a Long Hex driver to reach it though.

You will need to take out the Electronics tray and the battery tray. Requires you to loosen 8 screws. Then you can fineagle it out to put a new one in. Of course if you switch to BL and Back you will need to switch out the Controler too so depending if you have it set up to swap out easily that would make a difference too.

Hope that helps...

I was hoping it would be easy like MiniT - I usually velcro electronics down to make a quick/easy swap over.

Thanks! Will see when it arrives.

Really? Anytime I try that brand they do not work from out of package. Just no clue why. I have tried 4 or 5 of that brand and brand new, not work.

That sucks, I've only had 2 and they've been working good for a few months now, maybe there was a bad batch of them out there.

Yeah that is possible. Just figure I would not try them anymore. I still have three of them left. None work, not sure why I don't throw them away. Just sometimes hold to things for what ever reason.

I am really excited about getting the TLT-1. Knowing me - I will be the wheelie king. hahah Will try and make a good wheelie bar. I have a machine shop in my garage. Been making my own hop-ups. I am now making some parts for a friends EMaxx.

That's pretty sweet study! Wish i had one of those! LOL... That would be dangerous though... My wife would never see me again. She would have to forward my mail to the garage! LOL...

Yeah, the TLT with a 19t will definately pop wheelies... At least mine did with a stocker 27t in it... It was realy fun. Even with my little Intergy in it I can do fun tricks like spin around and flip and stuff...

You can mill out your chassis too. Or just make a new one...

That is a CNC Mill - If someone designed a chassis for me in a CAD program, I can cut them out. The Lathe further back in the picture on the bench is not CNC.

If Novak ever sends my SS 5800 back, I might run it in this later down the road. Who knows what I will put that in. Right now I want to try these Venom motors. Seems like a good price for a motor. So I want to see for myself how they hold up.

Figure later - i will make a chassis and few other hop-ups. But I have many other projects that have to be first. LOL

Cheers.

Nice...

I'm waiting on my packages too. I ordered a Clod and some other random stuff.
Still not sure if I'm even going to build the Clod as intended or just go for the Crwaler I bougnht it for... LOL... Couldn't find any sellers for Clod axles and since the whole kit was only $200 I figured it was a sweet deal. Plus I got 2 Magnetic maham motors and BB's and ended up getting 10% off the order anyway... It's Still in CA though! So mad at UPS. They have had it in CA at the same place Since the 27th!!! G.
