Hey lax195, thanks for rotostart conversion. I think that's a brilliant idea. I've read lots on the net about using that for a Sirio .27, and a some other engines. What you did is exactly what I had in mind, but I'm still waiting for my engine. It should get here next week. I got it from PPH Racing, and I live half-way around the world, all the way here in the Philippines, so it takes a while. Anyway, you seem to have a small issue with dirt due to the gap, since the backplate is shallow (where you used silicone fuel tubing). Here's what I was planning to do, maybe you can try it. I was planning to use the old pullstart casing to fill that gap. I was going to use a dremmel with a circular/disc cutter tool or any ordinary metal saw to cut off the bulging portion that houses the pullstart pulley. You will then be left with just the square base with the 4 holes for the screws very much intact. These holes will align perfectly with the 4 hex screws that go through the HPI .12/.15 rotostart backplate. So, you will have the square base (from the old pullstarter case) sandwiched (or in between) the engine and the HPI rotostart backplate. That might just keep the dirt out. Actually, you could even glue that plastic square base onto the HPI rotostart backplate and make it a joined one-piece backplate/cover. If you decide to try this, let me know how it goes. By the way... I was also planning on getting the Integy aluminum shock mounts, which allow more shock mounting positions/options. Maybe great minds do think alike. Hahaha! I've done some mods myself... out of necessity, and lack of parts support here in the Philippines. In case you might have a use for this information in the future... Savage differential bevel gears are the same with Hyper 7, and Kyosho V1RR cars... only Savage use steel gears, and Hyper 7 and Kyosho are aluminum. Anyway, they are a cheaper/lighter spider gear alternative. Another way of looking at it is that you could bullet proof your buggy's diff by using Savage steel bevel gears instead of the aluminum ones. The Hyper 7 diff cases are the same with Savage as well. Just a small contribution... FYI. Thanks again for the Collari rotostart conversion.
