It won't help if you just delete it Capn'. It will still keep files in your registry and might actually make things worst.

Like I said ... everytime I reformat it's like getting a whole new machine. I keep as little on my computer as I have too. I have another hard drive that I back my stuff up on and now can do full re-formats in less then 2 hours and including re-installing all my software. MS Flight Sim 2004 takes the longest to restore.

What about all the photos I have stored in it. When a reformat is done....evrything you added since you got the computer is gone. Or am I thinking of something else? Is system recovery with back up disc the same as reformat? Or is it done with a special disc...with just the bare operating system installed? Thanks Capt,n

Burn all your pictures to CD or DVD, if you save them as Jpegs you can play them as a slideshow on most DVD Players even if burnt onto CD.
You can copy them back to your computer after a reformat if required.

Don't use recovery CD's that come with computers. Try to use a Windows XP full version. Those recovery CD's SUCK.

Just back your photos up on CD like he said. You should always back up all your files.

Best thing to do is have the computer ready for breakdown. What I mean, is your computer crashed right now would you care? If so .... your computer files are not backed up.

Where do you get this copy of Windows XP full version? I did not get any re-install disc with my New computer. I hand to call. They sent 10 of them in case I need them. I have never used any. I wonder if it takes all 10 to do a complete re-instalation? Or can I just do want I want and leave out all the advertisments!!!

I got my my copy from here when I upgraded from Win 98 ages ago.

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=4571192607&action=c2hvd2JyYW5k&mfr_uid=93

You can probably get it elsewhere as well, other computer specialist sites etc.

Here is the American Ebuyer site

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=328862517&action=c2hvd3N1YmNhdGVnb3J5X3BhZ2U=&subcat_uid=930

Dont get an upgrade version unless you have original Win 98 or ME disks as you will need those as part of install for the XP upgrade.

It could not see a single pack XP Home edition listed but only had a quick look. (Why they sell a 3 pack version is beyond me)

The single pack edition on the UK site may suit you, dont know what the conversion rate is at the moment.
