Are you sure it wasn't Global, Modeltech, or Sportman Aviation?

It was definatly hanger 9 . Was on a distributer magazine with store prices. Saw it today again at the hobby shop. Coming out mid march- Feb from what I found out today. Priced around $249 and it was 60 sz. Set up for a 91 4 stroke. Same kind of arf set up like the Mustang 60 sz they produced.

My bad. You are right. H9 is releasing a P-40 ARF in Flying Tiger color scheme.

Pretty decent looking P-40! Hopefully they've been listening
and don't use the same crappy retracts.

I know...it sure does look nice too. If it flys as well as the other H9 warbirds it should be a keeper.

    Tailskid,

Wanna fly them in formation? I have a signed photo of R.T. Smith flying #47 over Burma during WWII when he was with the AVG. During our talk at the EAA Fly-In in 1987, he told me that #47 was not his normal aircraft and that his had been damaged the day before while being flown by another pilot. Also, the photo of him in #47 is the only photo taken of him flying while he was in the AVG and that he talked another Flying Tiger pilot into taking the photo. Most of the photos of the AVG were taken by R.T. Smith.

my intial reaction is that my VQ P-40 looks better. Richard any thoughts on it from the pic and specs? I feel it will suffer the "retract syndrome" that plague most ARF's especially H9 warbirds

Matt, from the single picture posted on their website, the plane looks a little bit shiny and slightly on slender side. It's also missing the split flaps. On the bright side, the gear are almost in scale location and the shark mouth is nice.

<<Based on an authentic Flying Tiger P-40E Warhawk...>>

Right. One of the marketing weenies must have done the research; the AVG flew P-40Bs...

WHY another P-40??? Why not something DIFFERENT; like a Bearcat, or a KI-61 Tony? How hard can that be?

Agree. But, this P-40 looks like a kind of new generation P-40 ARF for me, nice
    outline.

I wonder if the decals (especially the tiger mouth) are pre-applied. I'd like to get one and model it after an RCAF P-40 Kittyhawk. Pretty much the same, but no shark's mouth.

AVG also flew P-40E's. This plane is based on a restored P-40E that appeared in airshows. Check out the thread in the warbird forum.

It looks like they have the rudder servo outside the fuse...that will make much better control I think...I will have to paint that servo though.
This plane is going to have a .91 or Saito 100 4 stroke with a 3 blade Graupner prop.
Im glad there is a decent P-40 on the horizon..now I can start flying some of my discontinued Warhawks more often and not have fear of crashing them and not being able to find another good model.

I wander If you could put Robart air retracts in it? Or is this unnecessary?
