getting a new radio system and this one is at the top of my list. anyone got any comments on this one? good or bad. moving from a Futaba 8U Super. and what will be the benefits going to the PCM version rather than the FM version? thanks in advance for your help guys!

p.s. I love this new site! beats the heck out the soooooo slow "other" rc forum site.

The 8103 is an excellant radio. I use mine for my Heli and I am selling my Futaba so I cam put all my other models on the same radio. I am still learning the programing stuff, but the radio will do anything you will need. Good luck and happy flying.

I currently own the Futaba 8UAPS. I've considered switching to the XP8103 several times, but with the onset of Futaba's 9C, it makes that decision a little more difficult.

I believe the 8103 has superior programming ease than the 8UAPS, and it 'feels' like a higher quality radio to me. It seems as though Futaba has changed their programming format similar to JR's with the new 9C. With the price tag where it's at compared to the 8103... 9C would be my choice.

I haven't seen it in person, or felt it in my hands, so my opinion might be different after that happens. For now, I would have to go with the 9C and save the money.

Oh, and the PCM vs FM is in the accesories that come with the radio. It has nothing to do with the radios capabilities.
