Hi Lift
You never got back to us on how the Vampire did.

I have a Mongo (basically an 8' Zagi) and am putting an RC truck electric motor with a 14x9.5 folder.

I am in S. Texas and the only slopes we have are the sides of overpasses. I have Hi-Started it several times and it works good in a 15+MPH wind so I think that motor will get me up enough to enjoy it a little.

I also have a Zagi 400x and a Blitz so the Vampire is of interest.

Take care Jim

This is what you do when you like sailplanes and jets. The wings are from a Graupner Super Dimona. The fuse is scratch built and it is powered by a RAM 500 turbine.

Russ,

It's very gentle. It gets to altitude quickly if you want. However, we don't fly it fast as I don't believe the wings would take it and I designed it as a trainer. We usually fly it around at either idle or a click or two above. I have had it thermaling numerous times and you can just shut the engine off if you want. The Sig Kadets at the field fly faster. It is lounge chair flying at its best.

Hey Bill, saw that plane when I went to Florida Jets, looks fun and very relaxing to fly. Russ we could easily fly the thing to Catalina and back. Also gotta give you some props Bill on the Aries Jet, very very cool. Ray

Yeah, I guess if you are flying at near idle, you can probably get some pretty good duration.

Russ.

Saw the post about large scale aerotow.

Here are my efforts to get into large scale sailplanes & aerotowing.

Glider is a 1/3 scale Duo Discus. Got a fuse from Rosenthal, made a mold and made a better lay up in the plane.

Spans 6.7 meters and weighs 45 pounds. Flies great.

Tug is a homebrew design. Originally started life as a 1/3 Salto fuse. I modified it heavily, put on some different wings and a DA 100. Tows the glider up very smartly.

Cheers,

I have been searching the site for any info on the WILGA's, and this is where I got. Does anyone know of the USA distributor for the WILGA? I emailed FRISCH-MODELLBAU in Germany, but no reply.
Very anxious to get a price and dealer info.

I am also looking for a US distributor and have not had any luck. Don't get an answer on the email either. Can anyone help out here?

This is a Pulsar XL (100" . I bought it as a kit from ebay.. Its my first large ship and it flys very nice so far. The building process was fairly straight forward. The only thing I had trouble with was the sheeting of the wings as I never had done balsa sheeting before. I only have 8 short flights on it, 5 flown by me. I'll be soloing it soon as I continue to learn launching techniques. Next to it is my F80-C (48" Epp slope flyer.
