On the really stuck reminants of Monokote color, (after the outer covering is removed,) I have taken Monokote trim solvent and softened it enough to easly wipe off with a rag. The trick is not very much solvent, Too much and the color will soak into the balsa and possibly show thru the new covering.

You can try using a heat gun to help remove it. I'll make the adhesive loosen up some. Just heat the covering up a bit, and remove it before it gets cool again.
