Hi Marcus,

Thanks for the kind words, as this was only my 3rd full scratch build i did not want to make too many drastic changes so i stuck to the plan, knowing it would be a "stand off" scale outcome, there were a few areas i have to revert to experience and some advice from fellow builders, both at home and on the forums (thanks to everyone who contributed here).

#40 looks stunning, I really like the dash, currently I have painted mine black, with only the Rev counter installed, I will finish the interior once i know if flies and is reliable, will be in contact with you possibly to buy a nice dash like that.

I'm sure you must have gotten quite a few strange looks while driving along with that on the roof, although, it’s very securely packaged.

#35 also looks stunning, I love the yellow and white scheme, I will do a yellow and white plane one day, probably not a Decathlon but something yellow and white for sure.

I still need to weigh her and double check the CG when i have a few extra sets of hands, I checked it and its currently roughly 30% from the LE which i feel is safe, the forecast here is still heavy winds till the weekend so I’m hopeful of maidening it this weekend, spent the day yesterday fitting the trailer with extra mounts and supports to hold her during transport to the flying field.

Just home and showered from a morning at the local field, had 2 really good flights on her, maiden was rather uneventful except that i did not tell my 2 Aux channels to trim together with the Elevator and Aileron trims so i could only trim one side, managed to get it level and had a good 10-15 mins with a few gentle rolls.

Second flight was much more energetic, seems to want to die at the top of the loop but i suspect the tubing in the tank may be a bit stiff and not letting the clunk drop all the way down, either need softer tubing or a heavier clunk and try again.

She rolls so easily and loops well, my mate even had her in a knife edge at one stage for a short time so there is definitely enough power, and im hoping it gets better as the motor loosens up and gets some carbon build up inside, not peaking yet and still getting 6400-6500 RPM on the ground, no dead stick so im happy that its "safe" for now.

Thanks Marcus, Yip, live in the South of Johannesburg, got a small place but will always welcome you if you make it over this side.

The club is called RMAC - Rand Model Aeronautic Club, very nice field and we are pretty well looked after in terms of facilities and frequency control, although we are just under the JHB special rules flight path, most pilots avoid the field, although we have had one or 2 brave (read: crazy) pilots trying to come in and show off.

Uploaded a short clip, still messing with Sony Vegas but it didn’t come out too bad, was hoping to have the GoPro on but could not find anywhere to mount it securely, will make a plan for the next flights.
