You can use any DV editing software - Pinnacle is great for entry-level stuff, sometimes you might be lucky enough to get Premiere Pro or similar in a bundled package (yes, it costs heaps....), just make sure of 2 things: 1. You have a Firewire (1394) port on your computer (obvious, I know - but some people think that the USB port on some cameras is for video ouput, and it's not - it's only for still images) 2. Your computer recognises the camera when it's plugged in (it'll do the usual 'blip' noise, and will identify the camera as being found. Once you have that sorted out, switch your camera to VCR (playback) mode, and any DV (MiniDV, DVCAM) compatible editing software (ULead, Pinnacle, Premiere, Final Cut, Vegas Video) will be able to capture video from the camera using their own specific capture process.
