Do any of you guys have experience with Ziroli fiberglass P-47.
What engine for this plane ? Does it weight more than the wood kit etc.

YOU'RE GUNNA LOVE THIS PLANE!!!!!
I have had lots of T-Bolts over the years. My first was a Brian Taylor .60 size in 1979, then several Bert Bakers.
My glass Ziroli weighs 38 pounds with lots of scale detail. I have a Precision Eagle 5.8 engine, Airtronics 10 channel Infinity, fowler flaps, bomb drop, Vaillencourt retracts..
It is the best flying Warbird I have ever flown.
Wood or glass-your choice in building techniques. They are both great!.

Thanks ,Thunderbolt,this is the kind of infomation ,I wanted to hear.Have owned a Meister Fw190 and it flew great.At first ,I thought a G-62 would be the engine ,but now am thinking in larger terms .Thanks F4B4

The plane was designed for a G-62, but I live in Denver and fly at 6000 feet. That is why I wanted the extra power. If I was at sea level, I would still put in the bigger engine. Attached is a photo of my P-47.

I just finished my Ziroli 92" P47 with glass fuse recently and now have 18 flights on it. It's a fantastic flying plane. It flies like it's on rails and lands nice and slow and easy. I've had big size warbirds before but this is the best one. It weighs 28# and has a G62 in it with Robart retracts. With the G62 I can cruise around at half throttle and it still handles nice. I love just doing low, slow passes with it just to watch it go by. When I open it up it does nice, big, and smooth aerobatics. The flaps work really well and slow it down nice for landings. The stall at landing is very gradual and gentle.

Most fiberglass planes weigh more than wood if you are a light builder. But again, that depends on the builder. Some folks build heavy.

Some questions for the Ziroli fans out there...
Just framing up my 92" P47 & am trying to decide if I should put the elevator servos (probably Hitec HS-5625's) in the stab, or put 'em in the usual spot & run some beefy pushrods all the way back. I'd rather not have the pushrods exiting the side of the fuse, but am a bit worried about hanging an additional 2oz or so in the tail (tail mounted servos vs. fuse mounted with pushrods).

I'm using a 3W-85, which weighs roughly the same as a G62. I'm thinking/hoping of making a scale exhaust as well..... without spending a fortune if possible! Copper plumbing parts would be a good, but heavy option but that might be OK if these planes usually need nose weight.... do they??
