New to R/C here have been reading a fair bit of posts about subject and eyes are starting to get glassy. So quick question here hopefully a simple answer.
I am going to make my own fuel and want to know if the Klotz BeNol everyone has been talking about is good to use on its own or do you need to mix it with a synthetic.
Will be used on a stock savage thinking around 15-18%. I have been trying to go to Klotz website and they seem to be updating and it is hard to find info on products. Only info I have found is an online shop and product info says should only be used on fully modified racing apps.
Thanks

You should be just fine. BeNol will work in nitro car engines. I would think 15 to 18% oil might be a lot if you want a high performance running.

Fuelman,
The BeNol will mix with gas and methanol. The pure castor oil will not mix with gasoline. So the klotz must have put some additives in the Benol to make it mix with gasoline?. The oil colour is also pink/red like petroleum products?. Does this additives has any side effects on our glow modell engines?. Thanks /Amir

There is no problem associated with using BeNol with glow engines. Klotz does have additives to do different things in their oils, what they are (other than red dye) I do not know.
By the way, I have no problem blending straight AA Castor with gasoline, at least the gasoline formulations sold here.

Flyer95;
If its suitable for use as an engine lubricant, it is degummed.
According to the technical experts at my castor supplier, all of what is commonly called "AA" or "AAA" graded castor oil is degummed, it has always been that way, just not widely known.
