Well shucks. I thought this was the one thread maybe the moderators forgot about.......

Maybe if we end every post with "thats what I do with my Big Boy" they'll leave us alone.

Hey Randyracer, is that H9 260 ready yet? I have been looking at this one and all the stuff to get one going. I am getting interested in a big plane but I can't do anything til after Christmas. I am interested to hear how it works for you.

And that's what I do with by Jerry's Big Boy!

ps: How can I get a Raptor 30 to fly on control lines?

doug i would make you a good deal on the extra i have if you want one. i still haven't done much to it just glued the canopy on and installed the landing gear. i have changed my mind on what i would like to build next. if i don't sell my QQ yak or crash it the extra will set on the table for a while. i have been having to much fun flying my BIG BOY spoiler lately anyway.
i'm going to piggott arkansas sunday if any of you guys want to come out to play.

I've been taking the Nova out and working on the ST with the pump after work. It won't run right yet, so as a result there hasn't been much flying. The wind is suppose to be down tomorrow so I might fly the Big Boy and Bling. I need a video of the Bling with the smoke on. I've been promising that for months to the guys on the Bling forum.

Anyhow, other than that it's been totally boring around here. Since this is a dated forum, Libs would have a hard time stealing my 'Fun Theorys' like they did my 'Gravity Killed The Dionsaurs' theory. Later today or tomorrow I might post my 'Global Warming Fun Theory'. My brain keeps saying 'Use Me Use Me' and this is what it comes up with.

Frank,

I guess the moderators don't realize that a Spoiler is a bigboy that has evolved.

have any of you tried the goldberg 120 wild stick yet? a few friends of mine from Mo have them and say that they are the closest thing to the JBB out there. i am going to a fly-in in piggott ar sunday and should get to see and fly one.

rr

Hey Randy, I have one friend who had one. I actually liked the plane. He had a 120 on it he got off of Ebay and it wasn't very strong. The plane flew well though and I liked it because it has such a tall gear. You can fly it with about any engine and prop combo without worrying about clearance. I never flew it myself so can't make a comparison with the BB

Man I need to change that avatar. I would use my latest plane, WM Ultimate 40 that I got last Christmas,,,,,onliest thing is, I still haven't finished yet! I'm retiring first of the year and would love to start a AeroWorks quick build Yak, but, a spoiler would be fun to do too.

I went and flew this morning. This is the first reall good flying day we've had in a really long time. The JBB did great as usual!

I ran into an issue with the mouse can muffler whic makes it unusable in my case. I'd have to remount the engine upright and run the muffler along the side because of the way the plane is transported. A place for every plane and they only fit in that one place. I just went ahead and installed a pitts. It runs ok with that and I lost a few ounces from the stock muffler.

Had a great time at the Dyersburg, TN Fly-In. Sorry but I didn’t take a single picture. They had a good crowd and everything went very smoothly. We had 40% to smaller glow planes, electrics, helicopters, a Bigboy and Spoiler, and even a control line plane which won the best of show…………The pilot , I have to say, was awesome.

sounds like a good time had by all and i hate that i missed it but some of us have to work for a living. i will be heading out to piggott arkansas in a few minutes for there fly-in.

have a good day

everything went great at Piggott sunday and i got a chance to fly the carl goldburg wild stick 120. i was VERY VERY impressed with how it flys, very much like a big boy. the control serfaces are huge and it flys a light as a feather. the one i flew had a saito 120 on it and had plenty power. so if any of you need a replacement for your big boy till the spoiler arfs get here you should give the wild stick a shot.
i did almost put my bigboy/spoiler in yesterday when i lost a elevator servo doing a tight and low loop. barely missed the world by inches but the crowd loved it. haha! i have 3010's on the elevators and it looks like i popped a gear on one. with control serfaces that big i should use stronger metal geared servos and will be next time i fly it.

thanks nogyro i almost forgot about the locked up 8611a but i am used to them failing. it did not cause a crash, i found one of the aileron servos locked when i was putting the plane together so i think the yak is going to get stripped out this week so i can get the 260 going. i have all new servos for the 260 so there will not be any 8611a's in it. i may use them in the spoiler but i'm not sure yet.

i also blew the engine on my little pride & joy. Mr James Turk the guy who builds the pride & joys was there and i was trying to keep up with him (man those little planes are fast) and i may have found the rpm limits on a OS 37 heli engine. haha! it was taching 17740 on the ground with a apc 9-6 prop. i don't know what it was turning in the air but it was screeming till the engine popped. it is a total loose(the engine) with the engine block busted so i will be looking for a fast motor that can handle a few rpm's.

Hey Randy, Irvine has a .36 that puts out pretty good power or a Webra speed .32 may be a good one also.

Chief aircraft is where i got my webra 36 but they don't list them now. it crank's out the rpm's it's on a mouse can. all most as much power as a o.s.46 and weighs a lot i mean a lot less. hey did that wild stick have bigger tail surfaces than the big boy?

thanks keith, and yes the wild stick 120 has very large control serfaces all around and the tail is way stronger than the bigboy not the spoiler.

if you use good servos and have tight linkages it helps but these plane are not ment to be flown at high speeds. what makes them so much fun is how they fly at slow speeds and what they can do at stall speed.
