I suspect you are going to Lakeland in April. Are you staying at Frank's hotel? Have you found better accommodations?

If I get there early I could bring a plane and maybe sneak a flight in on Wednesday.

That would be a thrill.

Did anyone put a 4-stroke on this plane? Do you have a picture of the cowl? Do you have access to the muffler hose so you can fuel up or did you use an extra fuel tank line?

The directions say to use Bondo to finish the outside of the cowl. What did you use? Are there other products that would be good for this task?

Why not use the Fiberglass Specialties cabin top even if you are using the cockpit kit?

Also, I do not want to cover with Ultracote or any ***cote. But fiberglassing the corrugated surfaces is not such a fun thing either. Would covering the stabilator, tail, rudder, flaps and ailerons with only West Marine epoxy without glass cloth be strong enough?? Does Ultracote add that much strenght??

If I used the fiberglass canopy I would have to cut out for the windows. this would make the windows to deep into the canopy. We painted the canopy white and masked off the windows. as far as plastic covering, this is a sore spot with many scale builders. If the aircraft you are modeling is shinny and new and your model looks the same at the judging distance that AMA discribes, and your documention shows it. The judges at the 2005 NATS had a 3 way tie for high static!! 2 aircraft were painted and 1 was plastic covered. guess which one was mine.
One nice thing about having the aircraft your documenting around is you can take 100s of pictures of it on a nice sunny day to show the shinny paint, and other details you may want to show the judges.

That's an easy one! support your wing at the tips between 2 chairs and put a baby scale in the middle and apply pressure. The spar and sheeting will support all the flight loads that I would ever put on the aircraft. Look at all the big IMAC 1/3 jobs.

Here some pictures of the main gear door for the ARROW. Made from 3 layers of 1/64 ply. and using 1 hinge from Aerotech.
Special Thanks To David Turner for his help with the gear doors!!!

Do you have the link to Aerotech? I found 2 diferent web sites/company with that name but can't find anything about hinges from these companies.

If you can't find the Aerotech models.com hinges I would try the small klett hinges.
