Yep, real fabric and vinyl for the bottom and sides. I tried to get the same as per the original aircraft, however, I could not match the fabrics color. I did however match the texture.

By the way, I am trying to get the cowl onto my aircraft now and I am having trouble as the Engine is 'just' hitting the cowl wall.

How easy is it to rotate the Engine mount and does this have any issues associated with it?

It is currently mounted sideways, after rotation, it would be mounted side down between 25 and 45 degrees.

Regards,
Andrew.

What engine are you using? I have an OS 61FX waiting for installation, so I can't help you on that yet...

I am using a Saito 82a. I believe it will fit fine, its just that I have never done anything like that and wanted to get info before I tried.

The first photo is where it is hitting, the second is its current mounting and the third is of the area around the mounting for the rotation. In effect I want to rotate the top push rod to the the lower push rod. This should give me enough clearence I think. Any thoughts?

By rotating the engine another 10-15 degrees the only problem will be : a) removal of some material for the nose gear and b) watch for muffler manifold clearance. I flew a Saito .91 for over two years without a muffler and no one knew it! So don't worry about the muffler at this time - if it fits fine, if not, just make sure you can clear the manifold.

I just started building this kit. I was going to build it after an arrow at the airport I work at but have decided to dedicate it to my buddies charokee that he just sold. The long story short is I have the full set of robarts and all that is needed for plumbing and powering them. If anyone is interested in buying them for a major discount I would love to sell them to someone who has been posting on this forum because it has been a great help in my building of the kit so far. Send me a message or reply to this post and I will get a hold of you. I am also listing these on the buy and sell section but I won't be cutting anyone a break there.

Hi tailskid,

Thanks for your input. I have rotated the engine and it now fits inside the cowl and the muffler fits well also without the need for any adjustment of the landing gear housing. It is a little close however (2-3 mm: too close? )I have used a right angle connection for the engine and this appears to do the trick. (photos attached).

Also rcking, I have used lighting from Electro Dynamics (http://electrodynam.com/rc/index.shtml) they appear quite good albiet quite expensive also. No doubt being new at this I took the easiest option when it came to lights. Must say however, they are REALLY bright. Could not ask for anything else.

I have also added some pictures of my front landing gear. Still to eliminate all of the bugs, however, design has come off this site. Hope they are useful to someone. Thanks guys.

Thanks all,
Keep up the good work.

PS. What are peoples opinions on glass vs monokote covering and why? I have all the monokote ready, however, talked to one person saying I should go glass. What are the pro's and con's.

Thanks in advance.

Here's a link to my lighting system. I like the versitality and works on NiCad and not 9V. Also able to activate through transmitter function.

I use the Electro-Dynamics also. I posted pictures in the following thread link:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=6366932

for both my Tail and wingtips. They are not yet finished off, however, are very bright. As to the installation, it was a little fiddly, however, If I can do it, (i.e. my first model in 30 odd years), you should be fine.

Details about how to thread the tail have been posted in this thread, around page 2-4.

So, now it's almost teady to fly, I install a Saito 125 Golden Knight I paid the same price of a 91 and it's brand new, but now, I would like to fit the muffler inside the cowling but withe the furnished header, I can't do what I want, somebody can tell me where I couyld find a kind of swivel adaptor instead of the original header.

Thanks
