I will have the Quick Worldwide Quick learner in my hands for review. I'm really looking forward to building and flying this ship for myself. I will be using the following to finish it- Engine- OS32 )(does not come with the kit) Fuel- WC 30% [IMG]http://www.rcuniverse.com/utopia/clientfiles/wildcat-banner_2.jpg[/IMG] Servos - Futaba 9201 (all cyclic)(does not come with the kit) Gyro - Futaba Gy-401 w/9253)(does not come with the kit) Muffler - HHI 30 size)(does not come with the kit) Radio- Futaba 9ZWC2 Blades- CMT F/G 550mm)(does not come with the kit) Please feel free to ask any questions as I build this helicopter.

It comes with a very high quality white gel coat fiberglass canopy. Canopy weights 5oz.

OK, I opened up the box and pull out it's contents. Wow , I like the way everything was packed ,check out how everything is packaged and labeled. Looking over the parts , the quality looks impressive, not what would expect for a kit costing under 300.00!The instruction manual comes on a disk in a pdf format. The manual is the best I've seen, it has pictures of all items required to build and to finish the kit. The assembly instructions have full color pictures right next to the item being built and even the replacement part number is their for future reference. The manual is very simple to read and understand. I can see a lot of thought went into this instruction manual.

After locating frames needed and parts I assembled as instructed. Note there are no washers provided and really is personal preference whether to use them or not , I opted not to use them.All the needed bearing blocks and screws are in one bag section. The bearings are Japan bearings and very high quality.Everything fit perfect.A little care is need to install the set screw in the pinon in the right place I used Red Loctite. 1st problem - the set screw for the tail pulley gear to long and protrudes out from the reduced portion of the gear. Fix -use a file to file set screw to a point. Time 10min

Here is a pic of the lower frame assembly ,fan and main gear assembly. These all went together very fast,the only thing I don't like is that the autorotaion hub is plastic, so care must be taken so that the holes don't get striped(use ca with the screw). I also think that the front plastic radio tray is a bit heavy but very strong.The fan is molded plastic and has holes provided for magnets. Time 15min

Another Problem? You said a lot of thought went into the manual. So you would think they would think to put it on paper. The Quick manual is on a disk. I guess on the box for the heli they need to state that a computer is required for assembly???? Anyway I wish a hardcopy of the manual was included in the kit. Dustin

A paper manual you can lose, but one one disk is always there.I do agree that a hard copy would be nice but I think most people have a computer and printer.On this disk it contains all manuals of the Quick heli line.

Ok, I spoke to HHI , if you want a hard copy manual all you do is ask for it and they will include it in the kit.

Time 10min [/QUOTE] I spoke to HHI about the set screw , he assured me that I may have gotten a shaft that was not drilled properly and he offered to replace the part. I declined because my fix worked just fine.

I assembled the rotor head, the grips are plastic and the hub is metal all parts fit perfect. The Learner does not have trust bearings ,I would recommend installing them if you intend on doing 3-D flying.For the sake of the review ,I'm leaving everything stock. I am a little concerned about the Damping of the head it uses, one O-Ring per side and the O-Ring was soft and of a small diameter. The washout is all metal and went together with no problems. One note on the Auto Hub-you need to lubricate the torrington bear with a oil like Tri-Flow. Time 60min

I also managed to install the fan,it uses a tapered collet and a washer. Assembled as usual,no problem and a perfect fit.I did not balance it so will see if it posses a problem later. Time 5min

Keep the good work, THX, ISAAC [/QUOTE] The kit was donated to RCU and no i'm not being paid. All the servos, gyro,engine etc are all out of pocket. For those of you who know me, I'm not one to follow the crowd or fly things only because the "top flyer's" are flying them. I don't usually buy or fly with everyone else says I should. I like to try them for myself and form my own opinions. I'm well aware of most peoples feelings about HHI , however if they have a good product they have a good product. I have built many helicopters from the following manufacturers including GMP,Miniature Aircraft ,Century,Kyosho,Kavan, JR and Thunder Tiger. I fly with I like and I like what fly. I know it will kill some that I so far have nothing bad to say about this heli but that's only because of their dislike of the manufacturer. I will work on the lighting, Sorry. :( Any suggestions?

I personally saw this kit while FuryFlyer2 was building it yesterday . I gotta say it is very vey nice kit . I am not sure how it will fly but the quality and material of products is superb . The parts I saw on this kits are sold as 100s of dollar wrth of upgrades on other Helis .

How much time have you spent on the assemblys so far? A fellow in the Century forum who has assembled a number of heli's says he just finished his $160.00 Quick-Build Century Hawk Sport in 2 1/2 hours !!!

That Century is a ARF right?
