I had the same problem out of my piece of junk honeybee2. The transmitter smoked, and the reciever smoked. Then the main motor would get no power but everything else would work.

rcmachine on ebay is where I got it. They said send the transmitter and reciever back for replacement, but now they tell me someone tried to add a heatsink to the reciever, so the warrantee is void. I certainly didn't try to add any heatsink, and I don't know of any benefit of adding a heatsink to the reciever anyway. Basically, I think these HB2 helis are complete junk.

See my post titled "rcmachine: honeybee2 repair problems" for more detail.

If I were you, I'd try to send the board back for replacement. Hopefully the company you bought it from is reputable enough to not attempt to accuse you of adding a heatsink to the reciever.

Hi, Sorry to hear about your Honey-Bee problems. I haven't had any problem with mine. Sounds like the motor speed-controller FETS are burning out in your unit.

I dont want to be a ghoul, but if you replace these units, I was wondering if I could have the burnt-out units? I may be able to repair them, and if, as you say the only part that isnt working is the motor speed-control, it is still a good receiver.

Anyway, I'm willing to pay for shipping and whatever you may as for the burnt-out 4-in-1 boxes. Let me know, thanks.

Nope, no glue. Once you take the 2 covers off on either sides, the boards are mated to eachother on opposite side of a plastic divider with pins. If you look at the side with the 6-channel outputs, the channels 4 and 3 pins on the receiver are soldered to the opposite side of the receiver board, the mixer/gyro board has a matching socket. So you need to get a small slot-head screwdriver and gently pry up the board on the side with the channel outputs. The boards will then be seperate from the black case.

My battery pack is a white plastic covered and there is a paper glued on it and written chineese on the paper but two boxes marked with a pen they're 2200mah and 11,1V can this cause a problem like this because only main motor cable main motor and the battery main cables get extremely hot and they become softy that much hot think how it gets hot...may be my battery's voltage is not stable right?or something like a battery problem?

Yikes! Check the voltage on your battery. I'm using 11.1 V 1000mah with success.

Some basic principles of electronics:

If you have an 11.1 volt battery and connect it to a circuit designed for 11.1volts, it doesn't matter if the battery is the size of an ant or the size of a house, that circuit will draw the current it needs and is designed to draw. However that circuit will run for alot longer with the BIG battery because it has more capacity.

If you connect 13 volts to a circuit designed for 11.1 volts, the circuit will draw too much current and that excess current will be dissipated as heat.

So your 11.1 Volt 2200mah battery would only cause a problem if it was overcharged and providing say more than 12volts (I'm not sure about this, just guessing).

To answer your question: Yes. Too much voltage can smoke a motor.
